@@SevenFortyOne yes don’t change a thing on my account. I loved the feeing of being in the wilderness. You have a natural way of telling your story. It feels relaxed and not staged. What I am trying to say is great job. 73
Hi Rob, really enjoyed watching your first SOTA Activation. Nice job. I,m from the central CT area and work in the radio communications group for Eversource. I do all of CT and western MA. Drive/hike a few mountains in the area myself. Keep up the great videos, 73
I used to have a customer account in Monson, Mass. Still looks pretty rural (as I remember). You made great contacts on 20 and 40! I can see where doing SOTA could get addictive! Well done!
I know the place you are talking about! It went out of business a few years ago. It's open again now but not sure it's still plastics or if it is something else. It's only about 20 minutes from here.
Curious if you are referring to Polymer Corporation (previously Theremotech) that was on route 32 in Monson? They actually out grew that facility and are now operating in Palmer MA. The facility on route 32 is now a medical marijuana grow facility.
Nice job there Rob! We've certainly had some agreeable weather up this this winter. I'm hoping to get over to Acadia park and activate on Cadillac Mt (POTA, I'm too lazy to walk up, lol) some sunny day soon. 73
Very cool, Rob! You looked like you were having a blast, along with making some nice contacts, and that's what it's all about isn't it? My goal is to just be happy doing some POTA (my doc won't let me do any more mountain climbing!) this Summer. Cool to know I can SOTA vicariously while you have the real fun. 73 de W1NLJ
Loved it, Rob! I am a new ham and just getting my qth sorted with antennas and radios. Next I want to try POTA or Sota out in the future. Your camera angle in the trees did not distract at all made me feel like I was up in the woods. All the best. 73 de KI5HXM Brent from Texas
RG58 doesn't cost much and it is light. For short runs at HF doesn't have much loss. When you get the money get some money get some of the regular antenna Kevlar wire.it is much lighter. I am 75 and there is no way I will be doing what you are! Thank you for your video.
I have done a good hand full of POTA activations here near Chicago. (Two parks but I have a total of 5 activations.) I would do SOTA but there are not many summits anywhere near Chicago.
@@SevenFortyOne The highs place in this county is the city land fill! I have not checked but I am sure it isn't on the SOTA list! So, I can only do POTA! HA HA 73 DE W4DES
What is the model of Sony headphones. Always looking for a decent communication headphones that I don't mind out in the field.

@@SevenFortyOne Excellent! $9.99? I ordered 2 pair! Thanks again!
Congrats on your first SOTA activation! I am certain it won't be your last. Thanks for bringing us along. Portable operation is so much fun!
I like the way the twigs frame the picture in your video. They give it a feeling of not being in a groomed park and work to place you in the woods.
I'm glad you liked it, but tf I had realized they were there I would have tried to move the camera. But in the end I guess the footage was ok

Great Job. Did you remember to get the HT out of the tree?
I did!
