Petite Maman was by far the best film of 2021. It's so small yet so big. The most hard hitting impactful thoughtful and easily one of the finest french films of all time and one which would probably be the "underrated masterpiece" which people would discover by accident and end up loving it.
Wow. I've been entirely sold on anything celine sciamma makes after watching tomboy. Her movies are always magical and heartfelt. Petite maman was snubbed but The worst person in the world was nominated.
I just saw it. Loved it. One confusion, though: Why doesn't Nelly immediately recognize her grandmother (woman with the cane, Marion's mom) and feel profoundly shocked that she's alive again and looking so much younger? And then, because she was so sorry not to have said goodbye before her grandmother's death, why doesn't she express strong emotion toward her the instant she sees her and pepper her with questions--quickly confirming that it is indeed the same person---and thereby figuring out the time travel element much sooner? I'm not understanding the logic of this element.

1:08 Did she just spoiled the movie for me..?
Didn't spoil it for me...am rather intrigued.
Nah that's the basic plot, what's interesting is what happens in relation to that
Omgggg
Portrait of a lady on fire was so slow and bad . I thought it was extremely overrated
maybe you didn't identify with the elements of the story.
