I am 80 years old. I have been a Bechet fan for about 60 years. Yours is only the 2nd performance that is better than Bechet's, the other being the solo in High Society. Please consider Bechet's Creole Blues, first line music for a New Orleans funeral, my favorite composition without exception. Thank you.
For anyone checking out my claim: Performance of High Society in 1939 by Jelly Roll Morton's New Orleans Jazzmen, Bechet on soprano sax, Albert Nicholas on clarinet. To my knowledge, this is the only competitive solo performance, the way High Society should be performed. Bechet recorded High Society again in 1945, in 1949, and in 1952. These 3 later recordings had noncompetitive solos.
+dank memes 4 u Good question. The most important thing at the start is getting your embouchure right. Spend some time on slow melodies and long tones to get this right first. Check out my other videos for some help.
You surprise me I was watching the saxophone lessons and I liked it but I think this is the wrong baking track and in my personal opinion it’s not very professional
Hi Boris, thanks for checking out the video. Actually the backing track in this lesson is just one I made to help me demonstrate how to play the melody and original solo. I like the original solo and I think there is a lot to learn from it to help us all play better improvised solos in this style.
Uwielbiam saksofon tenorowy. Piękne, subtelne wykonanie tej cudownej piosenki. Artyzm w każdej nucie. Co za cudowne brzmienie.

That is, Bechet's only competitive solo performance.
Con questo strumento musicale sei imbattibile. Oltre al fatto che, come me, sei un sognatore. Complimenti! Da Fagnano Castello CS (Italia)
