This year your Easter is April 9th. Our Greek Orthodox Easter is on April 16th. Our Easter is steeped in many traditions. As a Godparent you buy your godchild a new pair of shoes, a tall decorated candle that you bring to church to light and leave there as well as a sweet braided bread. That is done usually until they are 16 years old. Our fasting is omitting meat and dairy for at least the last Holy Week. Many will do it for 40 days. We break our fast Saturday at midnight when Christ has risen.
What a sweet, meaningful tradition!
We do baskets and both my husband and I give baskets. We do money in the plastic egg hunt because where we live all the candy would melt outside. So my kids get lots of treats in their baskets. We give something religious, usually some beach / water item. Like pol shoes or bathing suits and a few gifts. We also wrap our gifts in our basket. That seems to be unique

We do Easter pajamas, chocolate bunnies/crosses and other Easter specialty candy, a plush bunny, and a mid-range price toy. That’s usually enough to fill their baskets.
Great ideas! Easter pajamas are fun! Are they actually Easter themed or do you just get spring pajamas? I’ve never gotten them pajamas for Easter but that would definitely be a hit for my kids! 😊

What great basket ideas! I LOVE the writing tablet idea. Might have to steal that when our little guy is older!
He is 3.5 this year and my wife and I are so excited because this is the first year we've decided to actually do an Easter egg hunt for him. He's really into cars and construction vehicles right now, so we got him a box of car shaped chocolates, a construction vehicles Water Wow pad for long drives or bored afternoons, a big egg with a put together dump truck in, and a bird book he wants. And of course some little chocolate eggs so he can put them in his basket as he finds them ^^
Great ideas! I loved everything. We only do an Easter egg hunt with candy and I make little coupons for getting ice cream or going some place special(beach, favorite park) and put those inside the eggs as well. I also found a printable this year for a resurrection scavenger hunt.

We got one of those erasable tablets for our oldest for her birthday and now my youngest one is getting one in her Easter basket because they both love it.

For long drives (which is most of our life), we have a grab and go activity bag.
We always had books and visited the library, but personally I am so glad I never woke up Easter and found a book in my Easter basket. Books were every day for us.
I guess it depends on the person! My kids love receiving books 😊
Here we all made sweet and salt biscuits,we paint eggs and go for chocolate ones 😍

I'm a grandmother in my 70's and I was crazy about the Enid Blyton books when I was a child! I must have had all the Famous Five series! So happy to see that they are available in Canada!

So happy you went with my recommendation for Enid Blyton! I hope the boys love their book! For Zara, there are series like naughty Amelia Jane and when a bit older, folk of the faraway tree and the adventures of the wishing chair.

We try to go minimal too. I had a hard time deciding what to get this year too!!
I usually get them something they need for spring (this year is a bathing suit, t-shirt, or shorts). Last year was beach towels. They each got some small grab bags or toys, and 4-5 treats including a chocolate bunny, and a new bookmark. My older kids each got a Starbucks cup or ear buds and the younger two got bath bombs. Nothing over $5 except clothing.

@@mamatofive1 I have a good long time friend that lives in London, who also happens to be a youtuber & my cohost on my channel. We plan to meet up with several youtubers and of course just go see the sights around the area including going to Niagara Falls 🙂 Hoping to do this in the next few weeks...

When mine were little they always got nerf guns and ammo. We still do baskets even though my kids are grown (and one married)! Always a new water bottle or coffee mug, a new beach towel, and a treat. This year my oldest is on a carnivore diet so instead of a treat he's getting a pound of grass fed beef! 😂

I grew up with a Easter basket my mom made me. Well she covered a well made basket in fabric. She still has it. My kids have nice baskets and they get things they need like a new tooth brush. And this year a new water bottle. My girls will get a little stuffy. And a Pez dispenser. That is what I always got so I passed that on.
Hopefully it will be warm. We live in New Mexico and it snowed yesterday very crazy weather. There is a sun rise service on Easter Sunday. We are praying for good weather. It would also be nice for the kids to hunt for eggs. ☺️
I love that! I hope we have good weather too! Our Easter egg hunt is always inside…too cold still outside!
