Sally is a character where it has two abilities:
Z: air kick
X: Shield
The air kick is used to stun the exe when he's tryna to predict ur movements (air one or smth.)
The shield is very useful, you can use it to defend yourself from the void, or the exe if timed correctly.

the reason why eggman "outruns" sonic in sonic 3 and knuckles is because sonic knew that if he ran a little faster, he could kill eggman.
so he wanted to spare him rather than kill him.
