- This is a quick video of my David Tennant Sonic Screwdriver from CelestialToystore.com in action. If at any point it appears to be Heritage Gold, it is only the lighting. It is a nice gray that, under poor lighting, can appear yellowish. Please note that under no circumstances has the Heritage Gold ever been shown to look gray under any type of lighting conditions.
If this is the only thing I could receive this coming Christimas, I would definitely do it! Looks a thousand times better than the plastic toy version. Hopefully they are still selling them for a long time.
they do not make these anymore, im glad i got mine in time
They use AG5 batteries. But this one is no longer for sale. Check out my other videos, there's a review of the current model with a battery-changing demo.
Upload646: This is an outdated version, with a much smaller speaker than the current one. The sound is accurate, it's just hard to hear in the video because it was too quiet to hear properly. Check out my other videos to see (and hear) the newest, most accurate version.
@ollied10 Sadly, I have not held the Eccleston version (Nor the MFX Tennant version). With the exception of the CO, this is my first Sonic. And, no, the sound is not nearly as loud as the CO toy, but then it has a lot less space to cram the components into. It's still very satisfying to hear when you press the button. Also, the metallic parts gently clacking when you handle it is VERY satisfying!
NICE! It keeps running while adjusting it? Oh, I wish the plastic one did that. Trying to figure out how to modify the plastic one to do so, until I can get one this awesome.
@riggbinweevilz The MFX was 219 pounds plus VAT (Value Added Tax - somewhere in the range of 17-17.5%), which came out to 252 pounds (Over $400US). It later went briefly on sale for 145 pounds because they lost their license and had to liquidate them before it expired. That sale lasted exactly two weeks (3/1/10 - 3/15/10) before their stock was sold out.
Plus, the MFX was very inaccurate (it was even the wrong color!) and had no sound. To me, the CT is worth every penny.
@Renegadeprof I don't make the sonic, I just bought this one from celestialtoystore... you can contact CT there for shipping info, but I can tell you that he does plan on releasing a Matt Smith sonic sometime this year.
Thanks for making a video in such hi-def! CT's Nokia isn't the best camera around!!
@mentalpix it takes 3 ag5 button cell batteries
So fucking awesome
i dnt lyk the colour but which is better season 1-2 or season 3-4 please reply!!!!!
Wow
@gloob93 You'd think so, wouldn't you? But just go ahead any try to make it for $300. Or $500. Once you hold this beast and take a good look at it, you'd realize just how much quality engineering is involved. I mean, if you're already a skilled draftsman with access to a 5-axis CNC machine or something... then you could probably do it. Still don't know how you'd manage with the extra-teeny soundchip, though. Anyway, good luck! I'm happy to have spent my $300 for a quality piece of work!
they are 400 now
What type of batteries do they use? And how would you replace them?
I have a VERY important question(s). Is this sonic screwdriver very durable and is it worth the money?
Any chance of a real review on it please?
@resurrectingreason what is this man??? for what use is this?
What kind of battery powers the Sonic?
@luker0001 Nope, this beast is mine. If you want one, they're 200GBP at the celestialtoystore(dot)com site.
Ooh, how I'd so like to have this version. Metal and looks nicer. The plastic one sounds good but so fragile. Pity only 500 of these were made. =\
Wheres the button
how much is it and is it worth it?
you selling it if so how much for?
@FRANC1300 This video just about covers it: ua-cam.com/video/UydYg5HLCpw/v-deo.html
is it real metal, and is it the same size as the one David Tennant uses?
Robert Chambers Yes, the one David Tennant used is slightly off by about 3 microns
could swear this sounds nothing like the sonic that Tennant used, please tell me I'm not the only one that thinks so??
god id do anything for that
@saberXelite celestialtoystore(dot)com
$500 is a ridiculous asking price... ~$100 would be good. I mean even the force fx lightsabers are $100 and they have more tech inside... idk how this is worth $500 unless that's real silver lol
SkinnedLynryd These are handmade, and 99.99999998% accurate to the actual prop, CT has had access to real filming props and has constructed them using blueprint and measurements taken. On top of this, these are extremely limited. So with the hand made nature, and the 100% screen accurate materials used, $500 is a fair price for an essential clone of the filming prop.
Way too expensive.
