- In the summer, you can experience music in the streets of Oslo when the guard parades from Akershus Fortress to the Royal Palace during the changing of the guard. The guard parade exits through the main gate of the fortress and follows Kirkegata to Karl Johans gate. From there, the soldiers continue up Karl Johans gate towards the Palace.
The 3rd Guard Company is a company in the Norwegian battalion of His Majesty the King's Guard. The company is a parade, ceremony, concert, and demonstration unit that consists of the music troop, drill troop, and company staff. These are conscripts serving their one year service.
That drum major has to be the best I have ever seen in front of a band by far
Flawless. The entire band. Impressive
agreed
Better than most English speaking bands, which tend to be gaudy.
This is such a facile statement to make. The US Army alone has 88 bands including Reserve & NG formations. Indonesia's National Armed Forces have 28 bands. There are 204 more sovereign states in the world. Let's assume they each have at least one military band. Now we're up to 320 + military bands. How many have you seen perform?
In Norway, The King's Guard (Hans Majestet Kongens Garde) is an elite & professional active military unit. I would expect nothing less than a superb public performance of their duties, both ceremonial & in the field. 'FOR NORGE!'
@@dbyers3897 if you’re gonna be like that, you’ll notice I actually put “drum major”, not the entire band. I also put I have ever seen. I could see another who is more or equally as smart. It’s a positive comment, which you had to make a negative out of it and I really don’t understand why
I have never seen such discpline, precision, coordination, military bearing, and pace. Love these guardsmen. 🇺🇸❤🇳🇴
Bravo! As a British army veteran I appreciate the skill, discipline, musical abilities and esprit de corps on display here.
Greetings from the UK thank you for posting the brilliant posts of the marching band. Its briliant the way they split for obstructions and then seamlessly reform when they have past .Will certainly look for any tatoos
Actually a simple and sensible method.
That is an extraordinary adaptation to circumstances. Brilliant, just go round it!
This drill sergeant is just amazing 👏👏.
That is so good you guys Well Done, FANTASTIC , ❤
These young conscripts are amazing.
I lke these guys ALOT, Very Good
Thank you 🙏 so much!!!!!!❤ It's so powerful, fabulous, great 👍❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉 With love from Ukraine and love to you 😊
Amazing, considering these are conscripts. Norway must be so proud of them.
We are. They also protect our king. Not so many know this, but when the terror came to Oslo 22.7.2011, Garden protected the castle digging trenches and deploying MG3 machine guns and Carl Gustav 84mm to stop incoming threats.. So, yes, I am proud of these guys. And they are new every year. Appr 19 years old
I’m so proud because my cousin was playing with this group. Sadly, he had broken a rib when this parade was, and couldn’t play😅
I saw them in Oslo and they are incredible.
Jesteście bezbłędni... You are flawless...
I watch all the time and respect for the Military for precision and for the author of the video, that's it...
vraiment super !bravo a tous !
Jessus Super rhytmics and parades, sorry my eng so fair. Greeting 4 All... From Poland greting (Super Wojskowa Orkiestra) 🙂
Eccellenti come musicisti e come militari.
Complimenti !
Excellent Norway, in the US you would be hard pressed to have a venue to display these excellent youths. Most American cities are avoided not lived 8n!
I like this band very much thanks for sharing
Bardzo dobra orkiestra. Brawo!
Exellentissimo❤
I LOVE MARCHING BANDS

Very impressive
Going to VICTORY 🙌✌️❤
Sehr sehr cool!
Brilliant, stars of the Edinburgh Tattoo every year.
GREAT !🎶♥️
Try this one for size: How many of these instruments were employed by the Ottomans to overawe their opponents? It was the Turks who started the modern military band tradition. The ancient Romans used bagpipes & trumpets for similar purposes. The Celts picked up the pipes from them & I expect the Romans borrowed them from some other culture. They were great 'borrowers' after all.
Music is great! Sound quality is amazingly good under such circumstances. How did you do it?
Very impressive!
LO MAS HERMOSO QUE ES PACIFICAMENTE, CON ALEGRIA COORDINACION ,OSLO NORUEGA❤😊
👍💪💯🤗
Sadly my country cannot do like this everyday because the way how they manage to get some space are not very good ...lol
that poor lady soldier with the short legs that has to continuously run to the front, wait and do it again :)
Great Youngsters.
Those Europeans know how to have a parade!
Grate!!!
Very smart!
👍😊👍🇺🇸
Great marching. Great music! I enjoyed every second. Thank you.
The Dutch can’t March anymore. They just perform dances trying to play what one calls hits, a shame.
U
😅
Norsk militærmarsj/Norwegische Militärmarsch/Norwegian Military March(노르웨이*군대행진곡)O.K!
Brilliant, up there with the band of HM Marines
They lead with the drum line too
At 17'40" the drummer on the extreme left misses his entry.
Er filmen optaget med en Drone?
Er nok filmet fra et kjøretøy.
Utmerket!!
Parking cars. No Problem! Well done!
Like ants they march around....😘🇧🇻
Drumsticks to an even height .
I wonder what’s the name of the music around 13:50? Thxx!
Kronprins Olavs Honnørmarsj by Oscar Borg
@@baguseleven11 Tusen takk!
A truly impressive display. The marching and music is of the highest caliber. I am curious what regiment it is, the green epaulets make me think a Jaeger or light infantry regiment. Thank you for the video. Norge FTW!
It is His Majesty the King's Guard 3rd Company. The guard, whitch consists of five companies, mainly has two tasks; guarding the castle and other royal residents in and around Oslo, and they are responsible for the defence of Oslo. They consist of mainly rifle companies, but also have personnel specialized in MOUT (Military Operations in Urban Terrain) with some mechanized capabilities.
when the germans came in 1940 HMKG earned the nickname "the black devils" from the wehrmacht fighting them. shows their fighting spirit - even to-day!!
Loads of skill there from both the riflemen and the drummers.
I find it strange that the musicians have epaulettes over wings. Usually (in most armies, historically) you would have either epaulettes or wings, but not both.
one of the Norwegian royal visited Italy a long time ago and liked the Italian styled headdress, and ask the military at home to use the Italian design
Norsk militærmarsj/Norwegische Militärmarsch/Norwegian Military March(노르웨이*군대행진곡)O.K!
is it just me or has the parade repertoire over the years gone from good variety to just the guards march over and over again? It's a bit disappointing.
ÇA SE TERMINE MAL, MAUVAISE COUPURE 😏🤔👇
Noreg
Great band! Beautiful! They couldn't prevail in combat, but put on a great show!
@@frodeskibrek Well they let the Nazi's walk right past them in WWII.
Considering how badly equipped they were and ill prepared in 1940, some of them gave a bloody good account of themselves - that was certainly the view of Lt. General Sir Adrian Carton de Wiart VC who landed at Namsos and appreciated the help he got from the Norwegian forces there.
@@hwatson069 Not altogether true. "The battalion served with distinction during the Second World War, where it prevented the Wehrmacht from capturing the Royal Family and the Cabinet at the Midtskogen Gård on 10 April. This gave the Guards its first battle honour. Later in the campaign, the Guards fought with distinction on Dovrefjell and at Lundehøgda, near Lillehammer, winning their third battle honour. During the campaign in central Norway they were known among the German soldiers who fought them as "die schwarzen Teufel" or "the black devils", due to their ferocity and dark uniforms." Admittedly Wikipedia
@@hwatson069 they absolutely didn’t, that was the the Swedes. They were badly let down by French and British ineptitude and carried on .the fight after we evacuated. Read the history! My father was there for the whole occupation. The Norwegian army also sank the cruiser Blucher in Oslo Fjord. Norway also fought longer than other occupied country before their armed forces laid down their arms.
Fortunately Britain had the English Channel. Things would have been very different without it. The surrender or destruction of a large part of the British professional army in northern France and well trained German forces flooding straight into England.
I mean... "Under Blågul fana" march shouldn't sound like that... It should be sound like when they play during Sweden military tattoo in 2013
Nobody came out to watch?
Could be very early in the morning...
This is the changing of the royal guard - a daily event!
Simple is boring so keep it complicated!
