I’m glad you still like it. I have two regular kayaks and they are heavy and bulky. Folding kayaks are so convenient. Really nice kayaking. The area looks beautiful. You seemed like you were really enjoying yourself. Folding it up was t too bad either. 👍18
Thanks. I'm going to bring it to the UA-cam meetup because Little Buffalo has a lake, so I'm hoping to kayak maybe towards the end of the day. Yea setting up and taking it apart has become really easy because I've done it so much.
Easy set up kayak.. that's something that fits me too going solo. Great option. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. You had a wonderful time in the water.❤
Thanks for watching. Yes, perfect for solo adventures. We also own a second one and my kids take turns kayaking with me during the summer.
I was thinking about getting a kayak. You make it look like so much fun. I just love this video. Great job my friend. Bringing support to the channel
Thank you. There are so many great kayak options depending on the space you have and if you want to fish from the kayak, etc. Really appreciate you taking the time to comment.
Wonderful, so Impressed with the kayak. Looks great and convenient. Fun and thanks for sharing
Thanks, it has been so much fun to have. Hoping to try kayaking fishing this summer.
Eine friedliche Atmosphäre. Schön zu paddeln😮
Berughigende Geräusche😊
Yes, the sound of the kayak and paddle moving through the water is a great sound.
Those seem like a great option for people who don't want to lift a kayak onto a car roof to get it to the water. Great review. 👌👍
Thank you. I kayak quite a bit on my own, so I definitely needed a kayak I can lift and get to the waterline on my own.
Hello there! I am thoroughly impressed with this kayak. What a great idea to use something that can be folded up and still be waterproof. I’m just actually so amazed. It makes me want to get out on the water and paddle around myself.
Thanks, it's a really neat design. We started with the inflatables, but they just would get blown around in the wind. This has a tracking fin and with the hard shell, you do really paddle straight. Thanks for watching.
Very nicely done video. You did a great job on this piece. 😀
Thanks so much. I appreciate that. I'm going to try some fishing from the kayak this summer and see how that goes.
@@hikingoutdoorfamily good luck fishing. Kayak fishing is great. I had looked into those Tucktec kayaks very seriously. But with back issues from a car accident sitting low like that was not comfortable for long. Keep on paddling and enjoying that water. 😁👍
It’s awesome seeing your channel grow. I’ll definitely check out your affiliate links. I really think I need one of these tucktecs!
Thank you. The channel is still a really fun hobby for our family. I can picture you taking one of these folding kayaks on your river adventures.
You are really good at putting that together! I enjoyed the scenery on your kayak. That fish!! 😮 Great review, It's nice to know you still enjoy it. I look forward to your summer adventures ✨️
If you could have seen me the day I first got the kayak, I was so slow at it! Practice makes perfect. Wasn't it odd to see that big fish just sitting there?
@@hikingoutdoorfamily it was yes!! I was thrilled you went and showed us 😆 🤣
Nice kayak ❤ Beautiful film ❤ Really enjoyed watching! ❤️
Thank you. Kayaking in the bay is always nice because I see so much wildlife.
Nice to see your kayak
Thank you. More kayaking videos to come this summer now that the weather is nice.
I like that it would be compact for travel, but I just don’t think I could make myself get in one of those. I’d be so scared it would unfold or something. I wear a life jacket, but am still pretty terrified of drowning. I still have issues on my traditional molded kayak lol. I feel the same way about the blow up ones. I’d be worried it would lose air. But I have considered getting one of those for when we travel and it’s not really convenient to take the regular kayaks. Sure looks like you had great weather for some kayaking. Now you got me all wanting to go kayaking. We haven’t done a trip out this year. It’s an interesting boat. Haven’t seen one before. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, if you are scared of falling in then you probably wouldn't feel secure enough in this. I think this type of kayak would probably make you feel anxious. We've never tipped, had it unfold or anything like that. It has metal latches and then cotter pins to ensure it stays together. I always wear my lifejacket and I can swim, so that helps me feel a bit safer. I do think if you did tip, you would not be able to re-enter from the water because you can't use the sides to push off of. It is really a great time of year for kayaking. I hope you get a chance to get out on the water.
That is a very nice kayak. I've 😮 to do some kayaking, but because of an extended drought, here the streams have low flow. Last summer, some of streams went dry.
Thanks. Oh, that is a shame that the streams are low on water. Will it get better once summer is over?
What a super convenient kayak... I can't count the times I've been out exploring and wished I had one in the trunk.... A beautiful nature-filled spot to kayak... Fun and informative... Thanks 😊✌️🛶
Thank you. A couple of months ago I was at a park that would have been perfect for kayaking, but I had the kayaks in our other car. Haha, so my plan doesn't always work perfectly.
Pretty cool, we have been looking at some different options for water paddling, those kayaks look pretty convenient. Ours are the standard style and we love them, but having something a bit more compact would be great.
Yes, I know you always make improvements to how stuff fits in the van. We have the heavy duty style, but they also make a more compact/lightweight model. I also have seen the Oru folding ones in some other videos and they looked neat too.
I enjoyed this video . I was concerned that these may sink after reading reviews. I am glad you had a good experience
Glad you enjoyed it. For me, the only water that gets in is some minor splash from the paddle. One thing I do always keep in mind is that if you did tip, reentry in the water would be difficult with the way the material flexes. I always go with a lifejacket and won't go out on the bay if conditions are rough.
We have two big kayaks, and as much as we love them, we might have to sell them someday because we want to live tiny. So this would be a nice alternative since it's foldable. Looks great! ❤ Thanks so much for taking us kayaking with you! 😊 Peaceful day!
Yes, I can understand wanting to get something that takes up less space. I find kayaking so relaxing.
I didn't know about folding kayaks - I have an inflatable kayak to avoid having to get a kayak rack
We started with an inflatable model several years ago, but we had trouble with it getting blown around in the bay. I think they can be a great option depending on where you kayak at. I agree, not having the kayak rack is nice!
You are so great about sharing this information!
Thank you. Out of all the outdoor gear I own, these kayaks have been one of our best purchases. My daughter loves to kayak with me in the summertime. There is something so peaceful about being out on the water.
Glad to see the Kayak is still lasting after a year!
You really get some great paddling in there. So relaxing out there😀
Yes, you never really know how a piece of gear is going to hold up until you start using it. These are still going strong and I'm looking forward to kayaking a lot this summer.
Beautiful location. Osprey and Egrets (no R egrets). I still would feel nervous in that boat, and I was a swimmer, but it sure looks seaworthy. Thanks for the update.
Yes, this is a great spot for wildlife watching. Have a good weekend.
Hello, "Hiking Outdoor Family"! Thank you for showing us such a great video! I feel so happy! I'm looking forward to your next work! Have a nice day!
Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed the video. We will have a new full-length video up on Tuesday and in the meantime, we will have some short videos on the channel. Have a good weekend.
I Love how you said that you always have one in your car so if you are not hiking - let's go kayaking :D
Yes, you never know when you are going to be near a nice lake or somewhere to paddle so I like keeping it in the trunk so I have options.
I've been looking forward to the update! Glad you're still enjoying the kayak! 👍 Glad we're finally getting close to summer and the water is warming up 😁 Beautiful area for paddling!
Thank you. Yes, I hope to get on the water a bit more now that summer is here!
Nice review. Glad it has performed well for you.
Thanks. You really never know sometimes till you buy the gear and give it a lot of use to see how it will hold up. This has been a good purchase for us and lots of fun.
Nice information. Thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks so much. I seriously love getting out on the water and summer is almost here, so lots of kayaking to come.
That is a very unique kayak. A lot easier to carry around than my 13 ft sit on top. A lot lighter as well. Very nice. Have a wonderful day my friends!!!😊
Thanks. It's been a really great option for us since we don't have the space or a truck to have a regular kayak.
I ought to do a kayak video! I thought about doing another Carvins Cove video ( part 6) and do a kayak video!
Yes, you should. I always thought your Carvins Cove series was interesting.
Amazing and beautiful river for kayaking looks very light enjoy 13:30
Thank you. So many nice little islands to paddle around and lots of birds to see while out on the water.
Awesome demonstration & explanation. Your videos, especially reviews, are so detailed. Great job!
Thank you very much. Having these kayaks has been so much fun for our family to get out on the water.
I like the kayak, it is light and convenient to transport. Great share 👌👍
Thanks. Yes, I love that even when I have it fully assembled I can carry or drag it to the shoreline by myself.
These are certainly interesting. I'm not sure if I need another outdoor hobby though LOL.
Haha. I want to try backpacking but I can't bring myself to buy all the gear yet. I know how you feel.
Nice sharing 👍👍
Thank you! There is something about kayaking that is so relaxing. We just love it.
I want one. My are so heavy and I am old. LOL
I've seen your videos. You are not old. You are always out traveling and adventuring.
Awesome!
Thanks! I'm so excited the nice weather is here and I'll be able to spend more time on the water.
Ever do a kayak camping overnighter on an Island ?
No, but I think the idea sounds really interesting! Have you ever done that? This kayak has an open design so you could fit gear into the back of it behind the seat.
@@hikingoutdoorfamily A kayak is a few years away for me, not in the budget. I want to camp on the Susquehanna islands above Harrisburg someday. Use my back packing stuff..
I need a more usable kayak. Mine is huge and has a small body hole, so it's tight
This is nice that the hull of it is open which is like a canoe, but you can get dripped on a little bit from your paddles. If it's on the cooler side, I sometimes keep a towel across my lap to keep drier.
I'm sorry. Which version do you have? I'm trying to decide between the lightweight Boto and the heavy duty. Thanks for the great content!
Hi, we have a 2022 refurbished model which they do not have any right now on the website. I did just test the BOTO and it was insanely light, I was impressed. I will have that review video up in a week. I would say you want to choose what is most important to you and where you will be kayaking. If you are going to be casually paddling and really want the lightest possible go with the BOTO. The only thing I disliked about the BOTO was that it is flat bottomed and I felt that made it a little less easy to paddle. If you kayak more often and maybe go in more difficult conditions with rocks etc, I think you'd appreciate the regular more heavy duty model. I have only used the BOTO once so far, but I plan on keeping doing reviews and updates on how it holds up. I can speak to the durability of our 2022 models, the two we have have held up so well and we use them in the bay, rivers, canals and lakes. Feel free to ask any more questions if you have them!
@@hikingoutdoorfamily thanks for the timely reply. Your opinion really helps the decision
if you tip over does the Kayak sink?
We have two of these and we have not ever tipped over in them. I do think if you tipped, getting back in would be really difficult if not impossible. With a traditional kayak, you can use the sides for leverage - with this, the sides are flexible. We stay safe by always wearing a life jacket and we all know how to swim.
nice
Thanks. This time of year is just so nice to be on the water - not too hot, but not cold.
Lots of pros to having that kayak from what you’ve said. It’s great you found one that fits well for you. I remember watching one of your earlier videos when you assembled it and I hadn’t ever seen a kayak like it. Looks a nice day to go out on it 😊
Thanks. Yes, the weather was beautiful on the day I went kayaking.
