I am a bit confused at 23.47 min. as it is written: "Hence it transmit a net of 2 symbols x1,x2 in 2 time instant". I think it would be : Alamouti Code transmit 2 symbols from two antennas at 1 time instant. Please correct me if I am wrong. The lecture was fantastic as usual. Thank you very much indeed.
I think you need to look at the overall reception and think if in one time instant transmission of x1 and x2 leads to correct reception of symbols at receiver, No. That is why at the next time instant, we need to send the same symbols in conjugate form over the two antennas, so there is a redundancy. That is why its a RATE 1 code and not 2. I have just started listening to these lectures and try my best to clarify every ones doubt, please dont mind such a late reply :D.
