I have been a The Fields of The Nephilim fans for years but I never saw them in concert. Only on a Video show or on UA-cam. Thank you for posting this video!
shame you've not seen them live, but they're such a great band, even just watching live videos on youtube...it captures all the power of them playing live
1990 a mate of mine who drummed in a band with the then unknown Tim Burgess of the Charlatans made a compilation tape for me, containing tracks by Fields, Joy Division, Hüsker Dü, the Chameleons and many others after I'd indicated to him my disillusionment with music. I'd gotten into PWEI, Ned"s, the Wonder Stuff and some others by then.....but then I played THAT tape....Moonchild still one of my all-time favourites...Elizium still gets me in that dreamlike state without the use of mind altering substances....the haunting, mesmeric voice of McCoy and the arrangement around it still sends shivers more than 30 years later....🖤
If you have never been Neph'd with flour in Bradford you have never lived!!! The Reverend Carl McCoy.... we worship at your dusty boots. See you in Whitby 🖤
Le plus grand groupe gothique anglais. Un des plus grands groupes de rock au monde. Toujours en activité (derniers disques en date : le magnifique Mourning sun en 2005 et le live ceromonies en 2012 - dont est tirée cette vidéo).
@@vsander09 Think you summed it it perfectly. Andrews lyrics are often 'clever' wordplay, subverting know phrases, double meanings and the such, Carls more ethereal mystic.
TCD is one of my favorite FotN songs. I have only ever heard the single version, where the good part of the song is only the last third and the rest is kind of boring. Here, they just do the good bit. Excellent.
I used to go to these gigs in London every time they played in the late ‘80s, sometimes twice a week and there was an intro. What happened? Are people too inpatient now? I r e.g. fee them to a forest by the cure
This band isn't about atmosphere, isn't about the music, isnt about the look, it's about a concept. Carl McCoy said in many interviews they approach the Nephilim idea around concepts , related to automatic writing, automatic perception of a spiritual world following in occult or esoteric ideals; thus the music is played in a dirgelike form of Post-Punk to Goth Rock which is aimed to enhance the conceptual objective of the band. So yes, the music is great, yeah the dark Gothic cowboy look is cool, however all this matches a conceptual basis, without this like Carl McCoy puts it there would not be a F.O.T.N and this was also said by Peter Yates and Tony Petitt, and Nod Wright as well has mentioned the lack of expression in their live shows has been something the band laughs away at most often. Because without the concept for F.O.T.N, there would be equally good music to sustain it, that's simple to understand I suppose.
Have loved them for 30 years and will forever 💕
Me too. Can't see any point in my life when I won't like them. I'll be listening to them in my old man's chair and on my deathbed ha ha
😎😀✌️✌️❤️❤️
Great band. As a rock fan for decades, I only discovered The Neph about 5 years ago. Fabulous!
Easy & cool
Simon they didn’t come from Leeds so a lot of these ??????.
This is not rock , 8ts dark goth metal
Whereyou sleeping??
Better late than never mate😆😆

Le plus grand groupe de Rock gothiques du monde oui tout à fait d'accord 👍 excellent FIELDS of the NEPHILIM 🌾 🕯🕯🕯⭐⭐
Perfect. Thank you! 🎶🎧♥☑ ✔
The opening salvo....Both barrels! WOW!
Legends
pretty blazing gig I have to say. Going back in time to see the Fields at their peak would for sure be one of the top dials on the time machine.
wonderful
Nothing, no one, like Carl McCoy.
Increíble música, estética inmejorable...
I would have sold my left kidney to have been at this show
Great song quite heavy and fast for them
Hey, if ya like this and not yet found the real heavy sounds? recommend CDs 'Fallen' by the Nephilim and 'Zoon' (by Carl's Nefilim) Enjoy!
Immádom!
Greatest music and Lyrics Andrew never had!
Is diferent but sisters have the place first. Love both anyway
Yes people forget that Andrew and Gary were around a long time before the Fields
Love both and overall might prefer Neph, but Andrew probably actually has the better lyrics. Carl is more apocalyptic dreamscape.
@@vsander09 Think you summed it it perfectly. Andrews lyrics are often 'clever' wordplay, subverting know phrases, double meanings and the such, Carls more ethereal mystic.
Andrew's lyrics are better, carl Mac coy only writes the same stuff
Very good!
Great Song
The best

no one ever helped poor Laura....
who gives a shit about laura
sozzol who is Laura?
I know who Laura is to me, but who is Laura to you?
Laura is my aching waking dream, the girl I couldn't save, heaven had a greater need for her. She had gone beyond. No mortal could intervene.
@@killer-kane One of my favourites

Don’t agree that the rest is boring. What do u think of a song like Dark Cell?
@@vsander09 I love the original version of Darkcell. Darkcell AD is okay, but not great.

The Neph at their finest
This dying age
🎩👍
Anyone know the lyrics to this version of "Trees Come Down"? It's sounds a bit different then the original lyrics.
It IS a bit different. This version is called "One More NIghtmare (Trees Come Down A. D.)", and was issued some 20 years after the original one.

@sozzol .What is prescience, please? xx
Great band, Great music but, as exciting as watching paint to dry !!!!
Trust me they are far from boring and awesome to experience live.. Such a dense atmosphere to be in front of them...
What would you like them to do, maybe a cartwheel or a little fancy dance?!?!?
@@TheRamblingsofBry made me laugh, thanks.
Maybe, mph7 would like the band to twerk!
