Great video, do you run an all night service on any routes? We do not in Croydon, London apart from new years eve into new years day. I drive in Croydon.
Hello from Tennessee, USA. Is there an affirmative policy to reduce noise late at night (less use of the warning bell, slower speeds, etc.), or is it just the consequence of there being less traffic and fewer pedestrians at that time?
Hello there! The bell is used when the tram starts moving and in case of danger. The bell is there just to say: Hi, I'm here and I can't stop very quickly. So, less people, less danger, less use of the bell. And about the speed... as this is one of the last runs of the day I can't go any faster than my scheduled times. If the little square on the right hand side monitor turn red I have to slow down a bit. Greetings from The Hague!
In Europe ringing the bell (nearing stations) or blowing the horn (at level crossings) is not obligatory like it is in the USA where LRV’s and streetcars operate under railway laws.
At this line 9 for example most crossings have automated warning sounds and lights for the other people in traffic to warn them I'm coming and I won't stop because I have right of way.
I know... but this time of year we only have a few hours of sun out here. The sun rises at 9am and sets at 4:30pm. To be continued... spring and summer are coming!
I have a question of you Robert. If you find a car partially blocking your way. How do you resolve the problem??? I am talking about a car with no sign of the driver. Or maybe it just never happens.😅 Merry Christmas and I look forward to more Tram and maybe Bus videos next year.🦘🦘🦘
Well, first I start using my bell and horn and if that doesn't work I contact dispatch and they will send police and a tow truck. And there will be some bus videos somewhere in 2025, that's all I can say for now.
Excellent video thank you for up loading. Cheers
Thanks so much!
Great video. It looks cold over there.
Thanks, around 5 degrees celsius this time of year. So not freezing cold yet.
