Bob, the "tell"...saw it immediately. Also, it's a bad habit I've caught myself doing. I really do try to look and then sit em down and get my hands off them either way. But you are correct...I get one handed waiting to muck, or just hold them out almost trying to muck early.

Congrats on making Day 3. Tough hand on the flopped str8 vs turned flush. I prob would have played it the same on the flop as you did with the front door flush showing. Amazing you both flopped a set of K's vs A's. Don't know what the odds are, but a few years ago playing 2-5 at Hard Rock Cinci here, I was dealt three consecutive Pock A's in a row and won all three at showdown. My table gasped when I turned over the third A's hand (vs K's mind you). Someone at the table looked up the odds. 10.8 million to 1 getting dealt A's three hands in a row. I've been dealt back-to-back pock A's several times over the years as well. It's crazy how things happen in poker. Again, nice job and look forward to watching your Day 3. I made a comment on your Day 1 that you may not have seen yet. I know you're busy. GL

Was playing a lot of 10-20 at Bellagio and tables were so good!!! Never ended up playing the main. I’m not much of a tournament player (hate the win loss tourney %’s) but enjoying your hand breakdowns and “Bob theory optimal” hands. 😂. You’re inspiring me to play my first main next year. Hope you take down a big one at the end. GL!!!

odds of KK beating AA is 15/85 = 3/17 0r about 1in 6 if I am not mistaken
All in with AA, called by QQ, and Q hits the flop. Has happened to me 3 times over the years. Soul crushing!

Great advice on tells from Bob
My best attempt of trying to do the math for the KK vs AA back to back hands flopping set. 1326 distinct possible hands one can be dealt in holdem. You have 4 hands of KK/AA so I think this would be (1/1326)^4. Then the odds of flopping a set is 1/9.25. And you did it twice. So this is (1/9.25)^2. I believe the math in this scenario is (1/1326)^4 * (1/9.25)^2. This equals 3.78e-15 lol or .0000000000000378 chance that you would both do this. I think this is the equivalent of getting struck by lightning, surviving with no severe injuries, then purchasing the winning lottery ticket right after getting struck by lightning. Disclaimer I am NOT a mathematician but this was too interesting to not try out. Needless to say it is insane odds.

Sounds about right but remember to also add the fact there are 8 others at the table so 8 times more likely someone has aces when u have kings

Anyways for both of you to hit KK vs AA and then both to make a SET on the flop is... drum roll...
the number of 5 card hands is a "mathematical combination" 5 choose 52 = 2,598,960 total combinations or total 5 card hands of any order
there are 6 ways to get AA
there are 12 ways to get KKK
so for one of you to get your KKK vs AA is (6/2,598,960) X (12/2,598,960) = 1 out of 93,813,792,799.8
but for BOTH of you to get the same hand is: [(6/2,598,960) X (12/2,598,960)]^2 = 1 out of 8.80103E21 = 1 out of 8.80103X10^21

You"ll be great, this is a very good experience for , as you'll be in the final table soon. Just relax and focus on the task at hand. A lot of people lose focus and are distracted by what is around, lear to block it out b y double focus on the players and their tells. Phil Ivey is very good at focusing on the other players. also on the AQ bluff spot, i absolutely think you did right on ALL streets. you have all ranges covered for your betting reason and amount. you hold the nut blocker, and you block a couple floats. sometimes you just run into a hand that’s way too good to fold. and that’s what happened. but i would have done the exact same sequence as you did 9 times out of 10. keep grinding your spots ((:

-good slice of whole grain toast, smear with a light layer of momofuku chili crunch, avocado layer, sel Gris salt and pepper and drizzle of olive oil, thin slices of honey crisp or similar apple, optional over easy egg and micro greens with a drizzle of oil and s n’ p.
Also, solid bluff with the ace of spades.

Aces is 1/220. So if you have KK, then depending on the hands that play after you, (x) the odds of AA is about x/220. AA is 82% favorite. so KK wins 18% of the time. So, rough math:
(3/220)*0.18 multiplied by (3/220)*0.18 = about 6 in a million. or 167,000 to one.

That wasn't the question. The question was, what are the odds of one of them flopping a set with KK vs. AA and then the other one doing it the next hand. The odds are much longer than just KK beating AA.

@@wrapper2 Feel free to explore the math. Making a set of kings must be the typical way to beat pocket aces. Flushes and straights are far less likely. The flushes would have to be in only the two suits that the aces don't represent. And you'd need four of that suit on the board since the king is only one card.
Odds of getting KK and facing AA is 221:1
For both it’s 221 x 221 or 48,841:1
But to win both is too high a math for me

Before I go to sleep. I want to tell you guys how to pronounce JRB's name. It is pronounced JON ROBARE BELLANDE. Not spelled correctly obviously but I spelled it like it's pronounced.
And by the way, he used to ask for money from players back in the day. Always wanted people putting him in tournaments. At the Bellagio I recall a bunch. He obv was able to network with the right people to get staked very high. It's amusing because I remember when he was a broke degen.

Lexy- ok i have to say that after watching this vlog it reminds me of a combo of the movies American Pie and Varsity Blues. Those KK vs AA had me more excited than a virgin on prom night. Rough calculations on your guys KK vs AA hands.. Have to start with the base fact of Bob having KK. Then odds of someone else having AA (assume 9 handed) is 3.84%. Odds of flopping a set (or better) about 13%. Odds they do not get set or better by river about 80%.. Odds the next hand is KK (doesn't matter if you or Bob had it) 1/221. Then same numbers for you to run into AA and flop set...etc. All turns into approximately 1 in 13.8M. If you wanted to go with starting with the next hand it happens...then it is 1 in 3 billion.

Isn't it 9.2%? Preflop AA vs KK is 81.4% vs 18.4%. So, you run that twice to get 9.2% odds that KK will win both times... *I think*
