I'm fixing to mount one. I skin. Flesh to flesh side to flesh side for 24 hrs. Shake off salt, then resalt for 24 more hours then wash it and put it a pickle bath 3 days before tanning. Be sure to turn lips. Ears and nose cartridge. After pickling, I shave it down. Pickle plumps the skin. Then back into the pickle. Neutralize with baking soda. Thens it's ready to tan. Once tanned. It can be frozen before mounting. Great video sir. Thank you!

I dispatch a few hawgs yearly and just either take them to the dump or leave them in the holes and cover it up. I am thinking that is a waste so I have decided to at least save the hide. It has been a long time since I have eaten giant rat and that was during wartime and I am sure in some parts of the world folks are still doing it!
