Nanhai District (City District of Foshan City, Guangdong Province)
Nanhai District, a district under the jurisdiction of Foshan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the south-central part of Guangdong Province, the hinterland of the Pearl River Delta, and the northeast of Foshan City. It is adjacent to Guangzhou City in the east, Sanshui District and Gaoming District in the west, Shunde District in the south, Pengjiang District and Heshan City in Jiangmen City across the Xijiang River, Huadu District in Guangzhou City in the north, and Chancheng District in the middle and south. The total area of the jurisdiction is 1073.82 square kilometers. As of June 2020, Nanhai District has a total of 1 street and 6 towns under its jurisdiction. At the end of 2019, the permanent population of Nanhai District was 3.0317 million.
The South China Sea has a long history and culture. It is one of the birthplaces of the Pearl River civilization and a typical representative of Lingnan culture. Since the establishment of the county in the Sui Dynasty, the South China Sea has been at the center of Lingnan's politics, economy, and culture. Look very nice! My grandmother was originally from Foshan. I've never been there myself. My grandparents' home towns were Xinhui, Foshan, Panyu and Taishan. The Pearl Delta Region has grown so much I think all these places are now just part of one continuous urban area. Hope to visit soon.
