2001. Half time. Up 21-13. Ed Reed “Joaquin said dominate and we aren’t doing it” that will forever be on of my favorite canes moments. The expectation is dominance and nothing less is acceptable. Walked out of Doak with a 49-27 beat down of the Noles.
man andre johnson, ed reed, jeremy shockey, willis mcgahee, clinton potis, frank gore, jonathon vilma, dj williams, vince wilfork that alot of great players right there!!!
nothing...NOTHING beats that ABC College Football theme. Everytime I hear it I think of those great Miami-FSU match ups. I'm a Florida fan so most of our games were on CBS.
Thats true..i use to love watching the abc intro it made the game start even better..it was an exciting begining for a college football game..my favorite sport ever.
@@nicholaswoods4055 I remember they had a story during Gameday of the speed of the 08 UF team. That's why it's so hard for me to think that today's teams are that much better than thrdr teams. This Miami team has 3 Pro Football HOF, Sean Taylor would have been another one. Mcgahee as well had he not shredded his knee. Wilfork might get in so that would make 4. Talent wise this may be the greatest era of Miami Football (98-2003).
Gator fan here again--too bad about the game vs. FSU this past weekend. Hope you guys can turn things around so our game vs. the U next year will be a classic! Can't wait to be there!
Andre Johnson dominated this game. The way 01 canes have got to be the fastest college team . these boys all had NFL speed .you can see it . the pro bowl running backs. Two pro bowl tes . pro bowl receiver ( one of the best when he played ) two pro bowl safeties . pro bowl line backer . pro bowl DL . pro bowl ol . I mean lol that is insane . and each player that was drafted from this team was one of the best at there position I'm the NFL . not sure there was ever a team before or since more stacked
As a Gator fan, i have to say that I'm very impressed by CaneFreak2011's work on youtube...like seriously! And thank you for not dubbing all this with shitty music. The Gators had a great run in the last part of this past decade, but Miami RULED college football in the first half the decade, especially in 2001. I always pull for them whenever they play FSU.
Watching chris rix play was a beautiful thing, lmfao!!! Go canes!! Clinton Portis pointing at the dude before he blows past em is so badass, this team played with a ferocity.
OH, totally agree. I'm a Cane fan......been rooting for the Hurricanes since the OJ Anderson days.....Miami was at the perfect place at the perfect time. Playing as an independent(just like FSU) allowed Miami to play lots of "lesser" oponents while still scheduling a couple top teams every years. Just a perfect situation for Miami back in the day. I'm very proud of those championships. I just wish they were still competitive.
Nebraska shouldn't have even been in that game. They lost their conference title game by a large margin. However, there isn't a single team who could stand toe to toe with this team
+Joshua Bro They didn't play in the conference title game. They were tied with Colorado for the North title, but the Buffaloes went because they had won head-to-head. Colorado trounced them 62-36 in the last regular season game (which is the game you're probably thinking of) and then later went on to win the Big 12 title game, beating Texas 39-37. But agreed... Nebraska shouldn't have been in the national championship game. To me, Oregon looked like the second best team at the end of the year, but that's easy to say after the fact.
Damn, Kenny was on fire in this meeting! Along with so many more, such as Ed Reid, Andre Johnson, etc...Such a great Miami team, best in th history of CFB!!
***** Ed Reed was a freshman when FSU slaughtered Miami 47-0 in 1997 (I think that was the game the FSU defense slammed Scott Covington into a goal post), he wanted absolute payback at Doak Walker
It's good to see Phillip Buchanon have such a great game, I still remember him being down on himself for getting burnt on the last play against Penn State the year before. That dude ended up being a beast. Go Canes!
I think Canefreak2001 should make a video of highlights from the beginning where it all started to this team in 2001 and send it to Coach Golden and their BS defensive coordinator.
I remember watching this game and we were board because it was the 3rd quarter and we knew we won the game, but we looked and said we still have another quarter to go and it 49-20
Great win last night.....they can salvage this season if they keep it up. They looked pretty good. WOW, how great would it be if they won their division and went to the ACC championship game!
@gravens1 you're forgetting frank gore, clinton protis, dj williams, philip buchanon, najeh davenport, antrel rolle, roscoe parrish, jerome mcdougle... they should have just let UM play in the NFL that season
@Mr1erful Definitely. I think Shannon has learned his lesson about calling off the dogs after GT last year. If he has the chance I expect him to lay it on and keep running the offense.
ed reed, vince wilfork, jon vilma, dj williams, sean taylor, andre johnson, jaremy shockey, kellen winslow, clinton portis, willis mcgahee, frank gore...........man and i know there were so many more..............
@cavaleer Yup. He did it all the time. He did vs Penn State, vs Florida State, vs Nebraska and vs Florida. That's just what I remember off the top of my head.
What a badass defense and offense!! Kids had 17 first round picks from this team!!
GO CANES!!!
Loaded with future NFL Hall of Famers
Holy shit
Special teams as well
I am a Ohio State fan, but I loved watching Miami and FSU throw down...it was awesome, hopefully Miami can get their program back together
The announcers about Wilfork: "Look at the size of that guy... He gets bigger as the game goes on."
Michael Seckman glad Vince is coming to the Texans
He was only a freshman in 01. Unreal.
😂😂😂
2x Super Bowl champion with the Patriots.

What a sick team Miami had. Filled with superstars
This was the first college football game I ever saw on TV. I was about 4 years old at the time. This game made me a Miami Hurricanes fan.
man andre johnson, ed reed, jeremy shockey, willis mcgahee, clinton potis, frank gore, jonathon vilma, dj williams, vince wilfork that alot of great players right there!!!
If I'm not mistaken I think Sean Taylor was a freshman that year. Best team ever!!
+the JUGGERNAU7 Devin Hester!
Also Kellen Winslow Jr., Bryant McKinnie, Rocky McIntosh, Phillip Buchanon, Antrel Rolle, Kelly Jennings
Arturo Jr hester wasn't there that season. He came in 02
the JUGGERNAU7 Butch Davis was a genius in recruiting
nothing...NOTHING beats that ABC College Football theme. Everytime I hear it I think of those great Miami-FSU match ups. I'm a Florida fan so most of our games were on CBS.
Original Monday Night Theme #1
Greatest college football team of all time hands down 🤘🏾
Jamal Greasy nah fam the 2 best is 2001 Miami and 2019 LSU
Jamal Greasy 01 Miami would have whipped 95 Nebraska but that Nebraska squad still top 5 Tho
@@savagetigerfbfan6673a 2019 LSU team that game up like 30 plus to Vandy? Nah.
chris rix was one of the most valuable Canes ever...
Dude managed to go 0-5 against Miami..in four years lmao.
RIP Sean Taylor
fuckem
Arsenio Buck fuck you
@@arsenioseslpodcast3143 You idiot he's not alive and you say some BS like that. Your parent's did a HORRIBLE job raising you.
I’m a LSU fan but RIP Sean Taylor gone too soon 😔
Sean Taylor was one of the best safeties in history at college and pro level even tho he wasn't in pro that long he still set records
Man remember when this rivalry MEANT something.
This ABC intro was the best nothing could compare
Thats true..i use to love watching the abc intro it made the game start even better..it was an exciting begining for a college football game..my favorite sport ever.
I think that this might be the fastest team that I have ever seen.
Absolutely insane speed
Only team even close is 08 Florida

This team was STACKED!!!!! Shit they need to come out with a NCAA football game where you can play with all of the legendary teams
That's what I'm saying
oh ok I see. that would be cool if it happened
Umm they do lmao if u play the older ncaa games they have some of the legend teams or u can download them on team builder on the newer ncaa
I agree 1000%
Ncaa 2003 has like 8 different Canes teams including 2000 and 2001...86,87,91...
Ed Reed was playing this game with a separated shoulder, heart of a champion
looking at this game 11 years later.... THE 2001 MIAMI SQUAD WAS THE GREATEST COLLEGE TEAM EVER!!!!
Speaking as a diehard Florida State fan, you have done a great job with these highlight videos.
Holy shit. Idk if we'll ever see a team better than this one. Idk
Gator fan here again--too bad about the game vs. FSU this past weekend. Hope you guys can turn things around so our game vs. the U next year will be a classic! Can't wait to be there!
As a die hard Michigan fan, it really was fun watching the 2001 Miami team.
I pulled for Michigan. Glad to see ya get the ring. Salute
Boy, that turnover chain in this game would've been given a workout 😏
Ed Reed is everywhere on defense!!!
I Wish We will go back to those Jerseys.
Love your UM football postings. Some of the best college football ever played. Thanks for the effort. .
How can you not love Ed Reed!!! 🧡💚🙌
FSU fan here, remember this ass kicking well, the Hurricanes were stacked in the early 2000s.

Best team in the history of college football. Best stats to this day for one year. Dorsey, one of the best quarterbacks ever.
Man the amount of future hall of famers that was on this Miami team is just insane. Not fair at all🤣🤣.
"How good is this kid Reed?" Turns out , pretty good!
man i remember watching this game while i was working, great vid!
Could there EVER be a better team in the history of college football? Amazing!
So far NO.
i say this is the best miami team ever
james jones the best college team ever
james jones you already know. I like what Ed Reed said lol
@Jamal Greasy this what i be telling people
Andre Johnson was ahead of his time!
watching in 202 (Covid-19). This Miami team was legit.
That's almost 1800 years before this team existed.
Greatest college team of all time.
Man, Ed Reed has ALWAYS been a BEAST! Gotta love that guy!
@Blacctophustla the canes were up 21-0 but then let up and only led 21-14 at halftime. apparently that wasnt good enough for ed reed! lol
This game marked the end of Bobby Bowden's Golden Years.FSU didn't return to national prominence until Jimbo took over in 2010.
Greatest College Football team ever

I’ve always felt Miami did better in day games against Florida State than night games
Greatest team of all time
Best college football team ever...it’s not even a debate
Coker always called off the dogs we could have won this games by 40 ....could have beaten nebraska by 70 in the NC game
Nebraska shouldn't have even been in that game. They lost their conference title game by a large margin. However, there isn't a single team who could stand toe to toe with this team

Oregon or Colorado would have played a lot better against Miami, but both of them would still be blown out.
Joshua Bro Frank the coach from Nebraska said that year you don't have to win a conference title to play for the championship
Joshua Bro Agreed
if these 2018 commit stay onboard, a yr or 2 & you'll see the 2nd Miami team that will be best assembled in college football history
LMAO
i love canes but richt is stubborn

When are we going to have players like them again?
@CaneZach Thanks, glad u looking forward to it!!

@jgcane Its not on tv, its on espn3.com
@canefreak2001 Yep - He went 0-5 against Miami. My favorite Noles QB of all time! LOL
Simply the best cant think of any other program greater than miami
We were absolute monsters!! Love it.
Is this the game that Ed reed gave that motivational speech? Why was he so mad, his team was dominating the whole game pretty much
Yes
Because they wasn't winning by alot
***** They were winning, but they weren't winning by enough points. Plus he was hurt, and guys were constantly asking him if he was alright.
***** Ed Reed was a freshman when FSU slaughtered Miami 47-0 in 1997 (I think that was the game the FSU defense slammed Scott Covington into a goal post), he wanted absolute payback at Doak Walker

@cdd405079 Chris Campbell?

@carloctave I know, I was pissed they didnt show it otherwise i woulda put it up
Excited for the Florida A&M game gonna watch it!
