I'm on the pills. My doctor has explained to me dissolving the estrogen under the tongue instead of swallowing them to help with the liver issues. I get blood tests twice a year to monitor things. This is in the US in the midwest. It's crazy to see how everywhere does it way different.

I know you have done this video with all the good intentions, but I think it's too much alarmist. Pills are surely not the best way to take E, but only if you stay in them all your life. There are a lot of people who can't have access to the other methods for the time being, and this video can cause them a lot of innecessary anxiety.

Each person need a different dosage regulated by your doctor through blood tests, I had mine increased from 2mg to 6mg over the space of a year to get the correct balance, I have a blood test every 3 months to keep check for any issues
while pills wont do you in they are metabolised 90% on first pass by the liver. i am on the shots with near 100% absorbtion and no first pass liver absorbtion. yeah have better things to do than watch the clock and worry about missing the pill during the day. the gels she is talking about are a good way to go as well as they are alcohol based and absorbed through your skin, the largest organ you own. patches are great too if you dont mind the glue residue. but for initial startup pills MIGHT be the way to go to see if this is th course in life you want to take. your provider can move you toninjections later should you decide to continue. but yes she has good information and well done mathilda.

This is Danielle Pitmon from the United States and I was on the pills as well and my doctor advised me that because of the nature of how dangerous the pills are to the liver and other organs of your body I went off of those onto the estrogen patch which actually works out pretty well just thought I’d mention that PS I started about four years ago and then a year before that or so with therapy with a counselor until I couldn’t afford her anymore and I saw a gender therapist at the transgender health and wellness center at Eskenazi Hospital here in Indianapolis Indiana internationals cents and I am right now in the process of waiting to get my bottom surgery because I’ve had mental health problems that have step in and stop everything hopefully as of January will be the six months that I have been hospital free from the psychiatric ward and I can then start working with the clinic in seeing a surgeon and hopefully I can get my bottom surgery very soon it is a very long lengthy process all right but it’s worth it so far and it’s a very interesting story from when I was a kid up until in my 50s when I began this ride I suffered with gender dysphoria my whole life and it nearly drove me nuts

For myself, I have started out on the patches. And patches have not done anything for me. It did not even raise my estrogen levels at all. Between the testosterone blockers the patches, I had like no hormones in my body for 6 months. So, my doctor, had me switch from patches to InterMuscular Injections. I have been alot better and it goes through the muscle so it does not even touch the liver at all. When I give myself a weekly shot, I do it in glutes (butt).
I do exactly the same! 0.5mL per week 20mg/mL estradiol valerate + 75mg spiro per day. Doctor also has me on 100mg progesterone per day. Began 10/23/18.

Nor who is told to take oral anymore... its sublingual, everything she said doesn't even apply then. Its the high does for extended periods of time that's dangerous and really only increase in risk; not certainty, and why we're supposed to have procedure to drop it (Doesn't have to be Bottom, Ori will make safe enough.) People who opt out of that path take that burden as do the ones who take possible burdens of Bottom surgery. One thing is certain, we're not meant to balance 2 hormones in equal or even close ranges; people doing that are asking for trouble.. 5-10 more years and well know how much. Its annoying to have to face the risks we take and watching people popping like candy..
I'm on pills and I been on pills for 1.6 years. But I'm going to move to injections. Because the pills have started to lose their effectiveness. That is also another consideration. Injections are more powerful and stay in the body longer.
The pills are widely prescribed by doctors here in Australia. I started HRT in February, and I am currently on 6mg (3 pills) per day. I get regular blood tests done which monitor liver function and other things. My doctor gave me the choice of using patches instead but I decided that pills would be better for me. I might change at a later date, but so far it has been good.

You also need to consider any other medical conditions you may have, and your testosterone level and if you are taking a t-blocker. You should talk to your doctor about it. My doctor said that we may go up to 8mg per day, but after I get my orchidectomy (later this year), then I will probably drop back down - not sure if it will be to 4mg or 6mg.

If you have a healthy diet, estrogen pills are reasonably safe. It's one of the main reason you're supposed to have frequent blood tests when you start and annual ones after. If you're concerned, of course talk to your doctor, but there's many people who have taken estradiol pills long term without liver damage. If you are on estradiol pills, it is crucial you always take them with food. Of course I'm just a person on the internet, but it should be your doctor that you go to if you have any concerns. The internet is a good starting point, but it should never be where you end.
Taking HRT in a rightway of prescription and every month check up and form of exercise and proper diet will not eventually destroy your liver.its just that in a correct prescription and in moderation.indeed thankyou for this information😇😇😇
I have been on bills 8mg Later to 6mg for 8years and my Organs function normally but I do blood test every time I go get new Prescription and to be honest I have never tried other methods but the effect was amazing 8 years and my breast still growing

Testosterone blockers block testosterone won't be necessary if you go for bottom surgery and cut testes out . Estrogen increases the level of estrogen in your body will continue along with blocker b4 bottom surgery and after only estrogen. As soon as you start taking regularly youll lose your fertility almost forever and never will have biological children .

Last time I was this early, Çatal Höyük was still inhabited. I've been on HRT for three and a half months now, and both the estradiol and spironolactone are in pill form. 4 mg of estradiol and 100 mg of spiro a day. I want to see what happens before I decide whether to switch to injections or not. So far, I haven't noticed any negative side effects.
I’m on 2 mg estradiol and 0.25 mg cypoterone - I’ve taken them for 5 days and only stopped today. I’m just really scared that I’m going to have to take them for most of my life, when I might accidentally skip days, or won’t be able to afford it in future. That thought alone freaking me out, so I’m questioning whether I should stop transitioning at all, and I’m depressed by both outcomes; of transitioning (for that reason) and not. I’m telling you this because I have a question and don’t know any other transgender people in my personal life - how do you cope if these thoughts arise?
@@isahere7015 I've never had those thoughts arise at all. The only time I'd have to stop hormones is when I have bottom surgery. Even after that, I'd still have to take estradiol. And my Medicaid covers it so there's no co-pay.

I crush them up let them dissolve in my mouth then drink fruit juice such as orange juice to dissolve them the rest of the way. That way the liver isn't really affected by them.

injection estrogen is not a good medicine to carry when you travel.. Although injection may be the best way to get estrogen faster. I take 1mg estrodiol pills once a day for 3 months after that I may want to switch to injection I started off small dosage so my body will not be shocked that estrogen is high at short moment of time i want my body to adjust slowly then go high dose via injection.
If you put the gel on your thighs and then you are intimate with your partner will he absorb some estrogen? Does it leave a residue? I would imagine that you don’t want to wash it off because you want it all to absorb.

Here in Australia my specialist strongly suggests the use of the Estradiol patches and they are in low dosage because it all is absorbed in the body, whereas the pills mostly are broken down and stored in the liver so are really a waste of time and not beneficial anyway.
I can't find any evidence that suggests estradiol pills are damaging to the liver. My women's health doctor at the University of California San Francisco is fine with me taking them. Can you cite references to any peer-reviewed studies? I can't find even one. I'm a little disappointed in this video's lack of references. Sorry Mathilda, love your channel in general though.
because they do not damage the liver that is why they make them the way they do they dissolve fast in saliva so by the time it hits ur stomach its liquid .Doo not take them sublingual it is not intended for that use and it will not raise your levels
No. You need to have a dominant hormone for your body to function properly. If you suppress T without taking E then this will pose health risk and affect your mood.

Agree. I think this is bad advice and not very well informed. I've been on pills for 5 years and my liver is 100% fine. I test it two times a year

I suggest you try herbal estrogen it's form in organic so less or no side effect. In Philippines and Thailand that most trans use😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️

I started with the patch now I'm on injections.
I take estrodol pills dissolved under my tongue bee working ok so far no major issues yet..

In the uk, generally pills are given to younger MtF trans people, and after 40~50 patches or gels are preferred.
Injections are very rare
Injection are not licensed in the uk so no one really gets it

I think that's just from having lower testosterone. Testosterone and the lack of it can affect energy levels.
I'm on pills and I been on pills for 1.6 years. But I'm going to move to injections. Because the pills have started to lose their effectiveness. That is also another consideration. Injections are more powerful and stay in the body longer.

The pills are widely prescribed by doctors here in Australia. I started HRT in February, and I am currently on 6mg (3 pills) per day. I get regular blood tests done which monitor liver function and other things. My doctor gave me the choice of using patches instead but I decided that pills would be better for me. I might change at a later date, but so far it has been good.

@@alycats It depends on your estrogen levels, and whether you are satisfied with the results you are getting. You also need to consider any other medical conditions you may have, and your testosterone level and if you are taking a t-blocker. You should talk to your doctor about it.
My doctor said that we may go up to 8mg per day, but after I get my orchidectomy (later this year), then I will probably drop back down - not sure if it will be to 4mg or 6mg.

If you have a healthy diet, estrogen pills are reasonably safe. It's one of the main reason you're supposed to have frequent blood tests when you start and annual ones after. If you're concerned, of course talk to your doctor, but there's many people who have taken estradiol pills long term without liver damage. If you are on estradiol pills, it is crucial you always take them with food. Of course I'm just a person on the internet, but it should be your doctor that you go to if you have any concerns. The internet is a good starting point, but it should never be where you end.

I have been on bills 8mg Later to 6mg for 8years and my Organs function normally but I do blood test every time I go get new Prescription and to be honest I have never tried other methods but the effect was amazing 8 years and my breast still growing
I'm new to the transitioning scene as I've just turned legal age, I wondering if I can still transition without taking injections or pellets (there is so much on the internet it confuses me) and if how Estrogen and testosterone blockers can be applied.
Testosterone blockers block testosterone won't be necessary if you go for bottom surgery and cut testes out . Estrogen increases the level of estrogen in your body will continue along with blocker b4 bottom surgery and after only estrogen. As soon as you start taking regularly youll lose your fertility almost forever and never will have biological children .

I've been on HRT for three and a half months now, and both the estradiol and spironolactone are in pill form. 4 mg of estradiol and 100 mg of spiro a day. I want to see what happens before I decide whether to switch to injections or not. So far, I haven't noticed any negative side effects.
I’m on 2 mg estradiol and 0.25 mg cypoterone - I’ve taken them for 5 days and only stopped today. I’m just really scared that I’m going to have to take them for most of my life, when I might accidentally skip days, or won’t be able to afford it in future. That thought alone freaking me out, so I’m questioning whether I should stop transitioning at all, and I’m depressed by both outcomes; of transitioning (for that reason) and not.
I’m telling you this because I have a question and don’t know any other transgender people in my personal life - how do you cope if these thoughts arise?
@@isahere7015 I've never had those thoughts arise at all. The only time I'd have to stop hormones is when I have bottom surgery. Even after that, I'd still have to take estradiol. And my Medicaid covers it so there's no co-pay.

Everything is under control by endocrinologist doctor, and of course every time what is to much to take that have risk. And you know that before.

I had been on estrogen pills for about 9-10 years and I actually started drinking very heavily and kept forgetting to take em three years after that I get cirrhosis so had to stop hormones all together I just started my HRT again and I have to use a patch I hate it ! It’s so ugly n u can see all the lint lol but I think I might need to switch to gel ! 😮 do you need to use the gel every day ?

injection estrogen is not a good medicine to carry when you travel.. Although injection may be the best way to get estrogen faster. I take 1mg estrodiol pills once a day for 3 months after that I may want to switch to injection I started off small dosage so my body will not be shocked that estrogen is high at short moment of time i want my body to adjust slowly then go high dose via injection.
I think in my country theres no injection for that, just pills and gel, but as I don’t have srs I think gel may be too weak for me idk what to do

If you put the gel on your thighs and then you are intimate with your partner will he absorb some estrogen? Does it leave a residue? I would imagine that you don’t want to wash it off because you want it all to absorb.

Here in Australia my specialist strongly suggests the use of the Estradiol patches and they are in low dosage because it all is absorbed in the body, whereas the pills mostly are broken down and stored in the liver so are really a waste of time and not beneficial anyway.

I can't find any evidence that suggests estradiol pills are damaging to the liver. My women's health doctor at the University of California San Francisco is fine with me taking them. Can you cite references to any peer-reviewed studies? I can't find even one. I'm a little disappointed in this video's lack of references. Sorry Mathilda, love your channel in general though.
because they do not damage the liver that is why they make them the way they do they dissolve fast in saliva so by the time it hits ur stomach its liquid .Doo not take them sublingual it is not intended for that use and it will not raise your levels

No. You need to have a dominant hormone for your body to function properly. If you suppress T without taking E then this will pose health risk and affect your mood.
