Thank you, Robin, for such a poignant and heartfelt insight into a Cotswolds village that really does seem to preserve a way of life that one would think has long passed - wonderful.

I enjoy your videos. I love visiting old churches. I lived in Europe for four years, and the last country I traveled to was England. The day I arrived just happened to be the day of Trooping the Colour. I had no idea. I checked into my hotel then walked down to Buckingham Palace where I saw Her Majesty The Queen, and other members of the Royal family (Princess Catherine was pregnant with Prince George at the time). It was surreal and wonderful. I wish I could have spent more time in England exploring. Thank you for sharing your explorations with me. It's the next best thing to being there myself.

I hope to be reincarnated in a small village like this and live my whole life there. Loved the roses, gladiolas and other flowers filling the gardens. Beautiful church with an old pipe organ. Lovely stained glass window. Yes, I could see spending an entire lifetime in a place such as this.

Sir John forteque as you mentioned was jurist who wrote English constitutional law in 13th century,is quite remarkable for English people. How he gave training to prince Edward the son of Henry the 6th,the war war of roses, the establishment of rule of Lancaster and the flight of sir John forteque along with Henry the 6th to Scotland and his return to England and imprisonment in ebrington ,where he died, first time I have heard. The queen Margret of France who welcomed the prince Edward,it's an exciting story. The ebrington village is beautiful, having meadows and olden houses built in days of yore and still they are same ,the flowers greenery along the road is enticing .it beautiful video you have made

Almost as though we have stepped into the past, so little changed by centuries. with the same flowers blooming beside the road. 💐I may be wrong, but i i seem to recall from my reading, that Margaret, was the Mother of Edward, Prince of Wales and the Landcastrian Queen of England, having fled to France during the War of the Roses.the House of Lancaster was the Red Rose and the House of York was the white Rose..

Robin, those stone effigies representing historic people who have passed into history are always interesting. We don't see anything like that here in good ole Michigan, USA. 😉

Ebrington is one of my favourite north Cotswolds villages. Love to walk the permiter and find the boundary stones. A map is next to the village hall.

Robin, Oh you have really caught my attention and imagination with the connection in this village to the War of the Roses.. I would dearly love to see you present a history of the War of the Roses , a series of history lessons, beside your fireplace. I am delighted with the show today! I have always been fascinated with that era of English history, with its twists and turns, like a Grand Chessboard. i have been fortuate to have a good friend, an attorney who was an expert on English Common Law and our US Constitution..Through him I gained an appreciation of our heritage with England I never heard of Sir John Fortesque until today, i would like to learn more about him. Thank you, Robin for a most enjoyable & edifying show. as only you can provide It is one of your best if not The Best IMHO. ❤❤

I am fascinated by thatched roofs. How do they not mold and leak in all your rain? How often do they have to be changed? Is this skill being lost?

There are some wonderful clips on You Tube about thatchers and thatched rooves.Worth seeing as the younger men are taking up the facinating trade.A thatch usually lasts 25-30 years.
