Do a launch in both cars the Turbo has a much harder pull then the GT3 , that gives you the biggest smile

You want a street car that can go on the track get the Turbo S

The S is considerably faster in a straight line and has a much more livable personality on the street. These people saying that the GT3 was as quick or quicker are definitely wrong. The Turbo S is an every day, every weather car with supercar performance.
Steve C turbo s is a much much better all rounder but when your inner child comes out it prefers the GT3

Spot on. Try living with that gt3 as your daily driver. It’s a road legal track car, Turbo S can be driven around town very easily
GT3 is fun but the noise and the ride gets to you after awhile. Turbo S is a classy supercar.

When I started looking for a new car it seemed like everyone was telling me to get the GT3 but after 15 min it got old fast it’s definitely a track car not a comfortable car to be a daily drive. I went with the
991.2 Turbo S . A much better daily drive, I’m in my 7 mo of ownership and it’s been amazing. Only mod is a tubi says.

My dad has a 911 turbos and we think is the best Porsche that you can get
GT3s are for purists, while the turbo s are for those who want fast cars with no excitement.

GT3 all day. The sound, the looks and there appears to be very little in straight line performance. The in gear appeared to give the GT3 the nod.

Gt3 fun and all only around a track. Turbo s is the car for the street and works on the track... I love the gt3 but I dont see the point of getting one if I dont live on the track.
Say No to Autonomous Driving the speed gets to a certain point where u think wtf am i doing i can die... the gt3 is def a better car to own. You wouldnt daily either if you had the money to afford such a car(afford not buy theres a diff between the 2). The gt3 has way more emotion.
Stefan Cupovic look you are one of those basic people that believe in that “it has spirit” bullshit. Sure it might sound good and preform better on the track but other than that, it cant do anything. The turbo s is a better car and I would daily it if I had the money. People buy the turbo s to fly around the streets, and it does that very well. Its awd is better for control and its fast speed and agility doesnt require you to be a former race car driver to control it. The gt3 is a car for folk who live next to the Nurburgring or just a track in general. But breaking the law and going 100 above the speed limit while swerving through traffic, I will take the turbo s please.
Good point actually, people who are getting GT3 don't daily the car anyway, and they definitely shouldn't. GT3 is born to be driven on a track, for fun. And you probably need to have even more money to buy a GT3 than a Turbo S because you would need another daily car other than the street-legal race car itself.
I'd say that if you want a GT3 for taking on the street and back roads, buy it with the Touring Package. If you plan on taking the car to track day events and such then a standard GT3 with the PDK makes more sense. I personally don't see a realistic point in buying a standard GT3 with the manual, I guess just to say you have a manual. I'd go with the GT3 Touring if I were to ever get a 911.

The gt3 is slower ya no doubt but the character of that high reving NA is just tooooo nice. I havent driven either hopefully in next few years ill have enough to afford one but wow cant go wrong with either. From what i hear if you drive a porsche thats it u dont want anything else.
Edit: Rented a gt3 while visiting a friend in cali about a year ago. While i can afford the car gotta say its absolutely pointless in southern ontario (Canada). Would be an injustice to own the car here but ill admit it is very vedy tempting at the moment ahha. Unreal car. Also on another trip in feburary this year i had a 991.1 carrera S and even that thing is proper on mountain runs.
@William Weisenburg that thing would be proper. My friend said the same thing. And this is a guy thats had and has it all when it comes to cars. I have a stage 2 m5 and while its a missle i just crave a proper sports car. Just living here in canada its bullshit dude. 50kph over is instant impound. Which is ok if its just a ticket and impouns fees but its the insurance problems after that really fuck you. Simply cant enjoy cars like that here.
@William Weisenburg no the only place you can use these cars is highway on ramps -_- if i lived like where my friend does in silicon valley california then ya id buy a gt3 tomorrow. It is hard to resist not buying that car here but i know id be doing it and myself a disservice owning it here. Ill just keep renting them on my trips to california and properly thrashing them on the mountain rounds. :^) if you live im germany than i envy you dude. Those roads, that organization/discipline. Those people know how build roads and how to drive.

Turbo is cool, efficient, fast and so on, but I like when engine is able to breathe by itself. One sounds and feels approximately thaaaat much better than artificially ventilated.

I drove both. Bought a Turbo S.
Turbo S all the way it’s faster on the quarter mile and it’s a winter drivable daily car.. try daily driving a street legal track car with bucket seats hard like a rock, the ones saying gt3 are the ones who think it’s a better car cause “it sounds good at 9000rpm” yet they haven’t driven both of them yet to see which one is best.😴

For the emotion of the engine of course the Gt3 and you can spec a manual! But if you have to choose one to be the only car in your garage it must be Turbo S. Bulletproof with 4 wheel drive and can destroy most things on the street

Nothing sounds like a GT3. Add a nice exhaust and tune the Turbo...and you very easily leave behind and forget about the GT3.
Just noticed, the Turbo is in manual mode and GT3 in auto, the Turbo did not redline to shift the GT3 did. Hard to compare, still fun to look at though.
Probably because the turbo power band is not at redline like the gt3 so they shifted manually to keep it in power zone

Truly don't understand why anyone would choose a GT3 over a Turbo as a daily, or semi-daily, driver. Had a 991 4S with an aftermarket exhaust and it got old-- good luck having a conversation, listening to music or talk radio over the noise of the GT3. (Having the back seat for storage is nice as well.) To each their own, I guess.

I always thought the Turbo sounded more like wind than engine. Love the GT3 for that reason.

You have to understand the difference between spot and sport+
GT3 = more passion, emotion and overall driving experience. Sportier, race car look and feel. TTS = more practical, more comfortable, more torque, overall faster and insanely tunable. More elegant design and lines. One of them you'd consider taking to the opera or going wine tasting in. ;) The other, not so much. Only one choice if you must have raw torque and HP, or like to modify to add considerable more power. Only one choice if you're heavy into track. Only one choice if you're into drag racing. Different strokes for different folks. Depends upon what you like and what you're using the car for. For me, I'll take the GT3 as the fun weekend sports (primarily street and perhaps occasional track) car.

I traded my GT3 for a Turbo S because I can use it more and also for the 2 track days a year.........my new daily....could not daily the GT3 reasonably....
Well for a few 1000€ you can make stock Turbo much faster. So the GT3 will lose every day against Turbo.😝

Turbo S all the time for the city and autobahn.
In a straight line, sure Turbo S is faster. But on my local track, the GT3 is faster. Most Turbo S lap times I can find are about 3-5 seconds slower than my personal best (and I'm a noob). But more experienced drivers are pulling 1:47 laps in the GT3. The fastest Turbo S lap I can find is 2:11. That's a 24-second difference ...
Both fantastic cars. But for a daily driver/touring, I’d go Carrera 4S.

Turbo S is the car you buy with your brain. Every other car, even the brilliant GT2 and GT3 etc, don't make as much sense in my mind. Having said that, I love the sound of the GT3 4.0 or the AMG V8s as much as anyone, LOL, so of course the Turbo S seems 'boring' in terms of sound.
Given there really wasn't much practical performance difference between the Turbo and the Turbo S, so I'm not even sure I'd bother with the S.
That's a good question: what could you buy for the money that would be as all-round practical, easy yet fast as a 911 Turbo?
Going to be interesting to see what the next gen Turbo and Turbo S show us.
