And see what kind of people raised him or her. :) I will always wish I had koi in my life but not sure if I ever will be able to. I breed cattle though and I could somewhat relate on seeing a whole "crop" of animals and suddenly go "whoa look at that one!" In a way that didn't show as clearly when they were more spread out with moms in the fields but next to eachother it shows and some of them can stand out in this incredible way that I think can't be explained to those that have never felt it! I could tell too that these breeders have over a very long period of time valued good mentality as well besides good looks and I tend to think it says a lot about a great person when they are breeders with good mentality animals! No matter the species.
I think UA-cam knows me better than I know myself. I love koi fish, but never thought to watch documentaries on UA-cam about them. I couldn't be any happier right now. Beautiful video!
I think it has been a year since i watched this video for the first time. Now i studied and observed many koi for a year, i found that i can appreciate koi shown in this video much more than before. They are all amazing koi 👍
It’s always incredible to see a master at their craft. Whether it be an artist making a painting, a mechanic fixing a car, or koi breeders making beautiful fish, there’s just something about it that’s amazing to watch
Really nice video. Very thorough coverage. I really felt like I was part of your whole experience. The Japanese sure a remarkable and very special culture. They seem to be super friendly as well as extremely courteous. The Nishikigoi you purchased are truly magnificent treasures. I thank you for sharing your awesome experience. How cool your job is. A dream profession. I certainly can see how much work and passion goes into the beautiful creations that has given us the gift of the impressive world of the Koi.
This is the second video I have watched on visiting Japan and shopping for Koi. They are beautiful fish and such a wonderful challenge to pick the ones you want. They are amazing for such variety and how large they can grow. You are so blessed to be in this business which you obviously love and experience the journey every year. As I have parrots and collect tropical plants I am not really in a position to expand into these fabulous fish. I appreciate the great job your camera crew did on capturing the trip and taking us along.

In a way that didn't show as clearly when they were more spread out with moms in the fields but next to eachother it shows and some of them can stand out in this incredible way that I think can't be explained to those that have never felt it!
I'm not even interested in Koi fish but I can't fall asleep. So here I am watching this. You too?

Ploink.
Some english carp fisherman ....... buy the fish xmas presents and manicures , and spend the family holiday money trying to catch them, TRUE LOVE!
It’s always incredible to see a master at their craft. Whether it be an artist making a painting, a mechanic fixing a car, or koi breeders making beautiful fish, there’s just something about it that’s amazing to watch
Awesome Video. Your voice soundet like a professional Speaker.
Cheers from Germany
2:41 Just want to point out that no commercial airline can travel from LAX to Narita Japan in 7 hours 20 minutes. Not even close. They are usually 12 hours or so. For what it is worth.
Like everything you do, Steve, this video is a class-act; polished, impressive and full of Light. I love it.
mrs chynawhite so you must only have 3 sets of clothing because any more would be a waste and should be given to those less fortunate right? And you only eat your exact caloric intake needs or else you're wasting food! fool.
with production subsidized by Starbucks ?
Thank you for this beautiful movie! Excellent work!
I have such a deep appreciation for Japanese culture. This amazing video and education into the world of Koi, has opened a whole new vista I could never have imagined. Also your detailed narration helped to really bring the visuals to a much higher level of understanding. I’ve been to Japan once, after seeing this video a return trip is a must. Thank you again. Great job. I’ve
I’m one of the lucky ones to live in my inherited grandmas house which has a beautiful koi pond and waterfall room, currently I own 7 koi fish and looking for more!
I really recommend building your own koi pond! It’s delightful to watch them swim and swim and swim. ☺️
Great video. I love the Japanese culture. It is a very honorable culture and I was never scammed nor have I ever felt unsafe during my travels there. I also felt joy in the culture unlike other APAC cultures I've experienced. I really enjoyed this video. I appreciate the respect your showed the fish and most importantly the people. You gave me goose bumps a number of times throughout the video and made me think about returning with my family. It is very expensive so it may be just a dream for now but one I will consider seriously. Thanks.
They don't need to scam you, you would happily give them 1000plus $ for a fish you can't even eat....
"Watch how carefully he introduces his expensive koi into their new pond" *throws fish into the pond *
Koi eladó
I was going to write that lol
Such a sweet man with a beautiful commentary and humble voice !! A very, very well made and edited video !! Loved watching all of it. I just wish you had told us how much the most expensive Koi was for.
Thanks for a wonderful video 👏👏👏💯❤️
What a great video. I have a whole new appreciation for koi. Who knew there were several kinds. The Japanese breeders seem so gracious. Really liked the narration.
This is one of the best videos I have watched on utube. Very well made and educational. I did want to see the pickup process when fish arrive and the process of introducing to their new location in Sacramento.
SAME! WE NEED AN UPDATE!
@@wibblewobble489 check his channel 😎
Before watching this video, I had no interest and zero knowledge about koi. I'm not even sure why I clicked on the video, and I certainly did not expect to watch the full hour. But I did watch the whole thing. I found it fascinating and I loved the way the narrator explained everything. It really made me wish I had the space and the $ to start a koi pond. They really are truly beautiful. Thanks for an informative peek into this cool hobby.
Karl made me watch this, and I don't regret it.
samee
Yes
SAME-
It would be nice to see if how they are shipped and if they all arrive safely
Didn’t look at the length of the video... Just realized that i’ve been watching for 40 minutes
Thanks to to UA-cam we are discovering new things other than good old TV. Which is no longer a fun.
I imported mine.
I bought them at 4-6"
They're 30"-36" now.
I've had them for 21 years.
I love going out in the morning, with a cup of coffee, to sit and enjoy them.
It's so relaxing.
40:42 WOW!
This is a great documentary thank you for sharing this video 👍🏼
