- Yes, there is a Eurostar to Germany. But not as you might think it is. Eurostar and Thalys merged in 2023. Sadly there is still no direct train between the UK and Germany.
But still, this new red Eurostar Ruby is amazing. Come along with us on our trip from Paris to Germany in Eurostar premium class

I did a hotel stay in Germany a few years back and the Internet was super fast. Anyway, thanks for this concise yet detailed video and thank you for not doing the toilet tour. That is my least favourite bit of any train video.

why does eurostar have a monopoly in london?
Passport and ticket controls on platforms are nothing to do with Brexit, its to do with the Schengen area which the UK has never been part of

@@Reens-Rails Oh, the EU will make sure of that. I've lived and worked internationally. I never had a problem in the USA, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, etc. The EU? So bad that I don't even try anymore. I just arrange to do and get everything I need outside the EU.
Living in Bielefeld and visiting my mother
in the UK - when she was alive.
I know using Eurostar it was
Bielefeld -> Köln with DB
Köln -> Brussel again with DB
then
Brussel -> London with Eurostar (the blue one)
It was always inside Germany
that there were problems with
timing and even once at Düren
having to on an island platform
having our train stop and another ICE pull up and
doing a full passenger swap!

My partner is disabled so we had "fun".
We were also evacuated from an ICE train, 7 years ago. However, on the open track on a bridge because of a suicide. This took 5 hours as two electric wheelchairs had to be carried over by the fire department. Crazy experience.

I worked in Oelde and live in Bielefeld
There is a bridge over the main line
at Neubeckum which seems to be popular
with suicides
and I remember being stuck
for three hours waiting for a train home
because of suicide in Neubeckum.
That was the RE6 which goes to Minden

What is the agreement on journey continuation Eurostar?
The AJC allows the passenger to continue their journey by train. The AJC does not reimburse any costs for hotels, taxis, payments for the ticket or compensations, nor does it foresee that railway undertakings will offer any meals or refreshments. So thia was the case even before the merger..
How much is reservation fee if you have a first Class Eurail pass on a train from Cologne to Paris?
When was this route extended from Köln to Essen and Dortmund? Two decades ago, I used the Thalys regularly between Paris and Köln, where it terminated. Vielen Dank im Voraus.

Thank you! That's the speedometer app. It's not very reliable, you have to restart it over and over again, but sometimes it works
