Good, informative video. Looks like even Florida gets them days when you can use a heater. Just one tip. When I pressure check a core. I submerge it in a bucket or container of water, then blow in one end with the opposite end blocked. Watch for air bubbles. You should see exactly where it may be leaking from.
Good work Alex. After you get it finished you can stay warm on the chili days in the winter. I might plug it off in the summer to prevent extra heat from getting in the car.
You need a hand held soda blaster. Would have cleaned that finish on the heater box up very nice. I love the one I have. Never thought I needed it till I had one. Great job on the how to 👍
Thanks Alex. My blower motor on my 66 is noisy and I wondered how to get to it. You'll have to video the wiper seal kits too. Something else that most of our old Mopars need done.
my mustang i took glove box out was able to get defrost hoses attached and 1 screw each end made a screen cover over the cardboard defrost hole where it's open to blow heat on driver side floor would have been access for mice because entire plenum was all nest
You can notch the end of the defroster hoses if you can't fit them on the vents. Then you can use a zip-ties to secure them. The hose shouldn't come off and if you want to remove it in the future you can cut the zip-ties.
I already said I did the wiper pivot seals in my Dart and they still leaked afterwards but it wasn't as bad. I hope the pivot seals they sell now are better than the early ones they sold back when I was daily driving mine. The foam you showed looked a lot thicker and higher density so hopefully it doesn't leak on you. I don't miss having wet feet these days cars are built so much better as far as seals and water drains than the old Mopars were. It was considered a feature back then and many leaked when new.
should of got the heater rebuild kit has all the door gasket's ect.. from Detroit( i rebuilt my whole heater box on my 69 Valiant, new heater core and all but mine was leaking though
@@TheGasTap I registered for it last night. I need 140 more subs to make 500. Then I need to figure out which car I am taking down there. Deciding what car is probably going to be the hard part for me. Currently I think the 68 LeMans will be the one. Hard to say though.

Good deal, getting your heater working again!

When I worked at the dodge dealership we had a tool to make those cables
That would be nice to have. Make throttle cables too I bet.
Is the valiant running a turbo off of a carburetor? How does that work?
It’s blow through fuel injection. It works great. FiTech 1200
@@TheGasTap I'll have to check out your other videos
Great content thanks for sharing
What’s your tread with on them tires? Rim width? They look fantastic!
275/60/15 on 8” rim
Great video bro. 👍👍
Not sure but dynamat might be ultra helpful
Are you gonna Dyno it? What would you estimate it to be?
I hope to one day. Should make 500 on current boost level.
Have you heard of or considered the no name nationals in Missouri Sept 30-Oct 1? Mr Jones would be a cool ride to line up against.
I’m not familiar with it but someone recommended it to me last week too.
