At best I see 9-3. Maybe 10-2 occurs but it isn’t likely. At worst I see 6-6 or 5-7.

Syracuse could really surprise this year with McCord at QB. Shrader was awful last year and all those 3-and-outs on offense killed the defense over the course of the season. Could easily see Syracuse in the ACC champ game.
Pitt under 5.5 is the play of the ACC. Cuse taking that win. I see a 7-5 cuse team. MAYBE 8-4
Syracuse will make a bowl game this season as they have a manageable schedule this season: 7-5 with losses to NC State, Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, California and Miami
Quick fact: Syracuse has not won AT Pittsburgh since 2001
Defense is going to be a problem. Huge question marks at DT. The secondary is savvy but very lacking in speed and the returning linebackers are not suited to the new scheme. I think 6-6 is a very fair prediction but I'm hoping we can pull off 7-5 or 8-4 due to having talent on offense.

Kyle McCord was decent at Ohio State but Marvin Harrison bailed him out a lot.
I think 2024 Syracuse is a whole tier better than you're giving them credit for.
With that schedule and their roster I think they go 8-4. If they have key injuries I could see 6-6. 9-3 or 10-2 are possible if things go really well. I think they'll have one of the better defenses in the ACC. Their offense should be really explosive if the offensive line is decent. That's the big if.
They will beat Boston College and Pitt. They'll beat either VT or Miami.

I don't disagree too much because Syracuse has been hideous on the road and until Fran Brown figures out how to fix that, it's a problem. However, I think it's unlikely that Syracuse loses to both Miami and Virginia Tech at home. When you look at the fact that these are all college kids and not NFL players, weird things happen and holistically they're likely to split those games. I would put my money on them beating Virginia Tech at home, which they've done against better Virginia Tech teams, and losing to Miami at home. But if Miami is Miami again this season then Miami may choke on their last game and play their way out of ACC championship contention. This could be exacerbated if Syracuse has a homecoming game or some other morale booster that day. I also have them losing to UNLV in Las Vegas (just too early in the hed coaching career for a tough road game) and winning against California on the road.
The fun thing this season about Syracuse is nobody knows what to expect. The only agreement is they're going to be somewhere in between a 6-6 season and a 10-2 season. 2025 will be even more exciting with them being so high up in recruiting, but they do need to land some four and five-star talent for 2025 which would put them in the top 15 for recruiting. Transfers are great but you only get them for 1 to 2 years. I think the sweet spot will be between teams that rely too much on the transfers (like current and past Syracuse) and Dabo Swinney's Clemson which doesn't touch the portal yet and is going to get hurt by that. I'm not going to say Dabo is completely wrong because some of Syracuse's best players started as freshman, and Syracuse could definitely use for building some more recruiting talent. Of course, there have been amazing transfers too like Amba Etta Tawo and even Garrett before injury so there's definitely arguments for a mix of stepping up Syracuse is recruiting and also continuing to hit the portal especially since Syracuse's other demon beyond road game problems has been its depth

Might be disappointing considering the strong start, but under a first time HC I’d consider making a bowl game a success. I could see 7-5 for sure but regardless most teams with a new HC struggle. Syracuse won’t.
