I was watching a grazing seminar with Greg Judy and he said something that reminded me of what you are dealing with Belty Beorg… “… a good cow eats as much as a bad cow. Get rid of it!” I feel for your struggle. You’ll figure it out just fine. Let’s see the horses too, when you get a chance. Thanks , Sean. 👋🏼
You've done your best with Beltie beag. She is not coming round to this calf at all and she could still damage it with a kick or a puck. A bag of milk replacer might be the best option to save the calf. Let's hope her daughters work out a lot better.
My neighbour has one somewhere he was to look for them. Good news Finbar. Beltie mor is letting her suck. And badly needed she's to much milk. Could work out the finest yet. I'll dry beag and put condition on her
Hard to understand Ellen. She's as odd and qwar. But she doesn't want to be here so we will have to let her go. But I sort of need excuses to sell as we have a lot of hiefers coming through. There is one way to convince me to part with an animal and that's bad manners and boldness
Lobe your videos and knowing your plans for your herd. That bitter Beltie Beorg is a nightmare. Are you getting some more Galloways. They did whether a rotten winter really well. We'd live ones about your ponies too!
Well seven thank you. We still have her mother and another daughter albeit a cross. And two beag daughters. And Ruby's two red heifers so I do believe they are still going to be a major part of our herd. Very happy with Davies hiefer aka the white cow. She's walking it. We have now two top roan hiefer out of her. I could literally keep just them sell all and start fresh
Appreciate your efforts and hard work for sharing your beautiful sharing adventure documentary countryside content video and you doing such an amazing job .. million thanks ..
By dad, Seanie, I didn't realise that Beltie Beag was as difficult as that with the calf. I assumed she was just shaking her away or being awkward, but there was true meaning in those kicks. Oh without a doubt I'd show her the door as soon as the calf was weaned and she gets a bit of flesh on her. I have no time for that whatsoever. I've seen cows dislkie their calves or take no real interest in them, but after a while they would come around, but she's another level from that. But you've such a beautiful crop of heifers coming along that you can easily get rid of the few ones that are not floating your boat. Good luck to you ;)
Thanks for update Seán. Such a pity about beltie Beag, just hope she doesn't hurt the little beauty. Very clever calf worth keeping. Best of luck with the mare. Do you still have the goat?.
Well Marie she not only didn't bond with her but mostly developed a hatred for her. Disaster tbh but we are managing away I tend to stand with the herd for a lot longer than nessesary. 🙂 I sold the goats Marie a friend wanted a couple of gardeners. I have planted young trees and didn't want them to get near them either.
Mind the calf anyway hopefully she will turn out like her grandmother. Glad the goats got a good home. You had no business with them when you had young trees to grow. Enjoy
It's a shame sean she is like that, but ur better off getting rid of her, no mothering instinct, that bucking calfs would do ur head in,the red calfs are thriving well👍
Well Mr onion yes it's a pity I always had a love hate for her but she has decided she doesn't want to be here. So good luck and thanks to her. Thankfully we have nice red Ruby's to follow so no loss 🙌
Wise decision on beletie beag, u couldn't be dealing with that. I think u might be right about the hormones, I remember years ago we had a cow that was the closest thing to a bull u could get, she'd prefer to be riding other cows rather than mothering a calf, in fact, she almost killed her calf once The road is the only option
She's a real disappointment lad. But I'm actually looking for excuses now to sell cows with all the heifers coming in so it's zero tolerance from now on 🙌
Please understand it's normal in cows especially first time calver don't loose that beautiful cow just give it time and effort. tie one leg a little back so that it won't kick her and tie the head it will take couple of time and it will be history I see that every time and you need to know suckling her she never been and that situation

A right bit of a madam, she's on one way street.
I’d love to see more of your ponies
That calf will get the better of the cow after another week. You've the hard part done. They'll be fine
She very determined. Yes sucking beltie mor now which is great
Sean ,nice video the calves are looking really wonderful and the grass looks great too 👍
Thank you. I think Ruby calves are growing very fast. Very excited to see how there turn out 🙌
A Hobble cheap cure to that kicking ...

Loved the video. Looking forward to the next.😊
Thank you Sandra. Good to know 🙂
The long acre' UA-camr has a spaniel / harness specifically for cnts like 'Belty Beag'
(Supposedly a good job)
My neighbour has one somewhere he was to look for them.

Can't help feeling for you with Beltie Beag, tough time when you know the head has to rule. Here's hoping her calf turns out a winner for you.

Good stuff
Beltie Beag it's the road for you lass. Sean could you get Beltie Mor to accept the other calf? It seems she would have plenty of milk for both. 🙂
Well Joel yes I'd love to do that. I've tried a few times. But no lick yet. I dry beag off and sell asap

Thank you too my friend. Delighted you enjoy them 🙌

She a real tramp. It's not an issue of not bonding it's almost a hatred. She kicks with intentions to do harm.
@@seanofalluinregenerativefa4569 Absolutely! It's not a "ah leave me alone for now" kick, it's a "f*ck off away from me or I'll kill you" one!
Yes Sean , out the gap with belty beag
She got to many chances 🙌

That cow is not a good mom unless she has a sore udder.
Thank you,
Ash plant needed for belty beag.

Grt video again Sean. Will U out up a video off the mare and foal when it happens. ye are mad about the auld ponies in Kerry .
Good man your self. I will surely.. Are you north of tralee by any chance?

5,59 maybe beltie beag is identifing as a bull🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
LGBTIQA+ and refer to her as "they". There's no point standing at the gate.
Get rid of her she’s a bad mother and too much extra work for you
I think I hate that cow beltie beog/ beag.
I can't work her out at all. Of all the cows or breeds out there I'd never pick a beltie to act like it. She's kicking with an intention to do harm 😫
Any update on a bull Sean? Beltie for the beef pen for sure. She’s not for breeding anymore.
Very soon Ian 🤞
