What are the odds you guys just did this! I literally just brought in an 06 to build! I’ll definitely be making a few RM orders!
I've been following your channel Michael for the longest time you may remember me we have talked through Instagram one-on-one as well I'm the guy that had to sell all my stuff because of cancer to help pay for bills I'm thinking about picking me up a little blaster I'm a big guy in 6'2 but I've owned them in the past and they're fun to ride I can't wait to see if you do one on your channel
you gonna be dropping videos on it? been missing the basket case garage content latelyyy
One of the best quads ever made. The Yamaha blaster. A ATV for younger generation and will move around a 300 pound grown man. Love these things.
For a "youth quad" these things still get my fatass up to speed pretty well lol
I’ve got two banshees and bought an 06 for my daughters and I love riding it. It’s pure fun and lively. Would have one over a 660 raptor all day long.
Very cool to see some sport quad content! Best build since the Warrior project!!!!
I wish the sport quad era would make a return
You guys have been pumping out amazing videos lately just like this. Definitely keep it up, Rocky Mountain never leaves me dissatisfied. The blaster is such a dope quad, gotta keep nice ones like this around.
The blaster was my first sport quad I had back in the day, and they hold a spot in my heart 😌 This build is just plain awesome, and super clean. I love it! 😍👌🏻
I sold my blaster a year ago. But this was my all time favorite machine to work on. Air cooled 2stroke with a bullet proof six speed. These lil quads can take a beating & keep going. Awesome vid👍🏻
You just reignited my love for the blaster!
The blaster was my first quad and I loved it!! I added a 240 kit to mine and it gave it so much life and spunk I sure do miss it.
I remember when I was in high school every one had one of these! Cool vid!
Working on mine right now. Great video guys!
I did this to a blaster we bought new and it made it fly ! Literally a blast
I loved this video! I own and it's my favorite quad because it's cheap and easy to fix. Rocky mountain has some really nice parts for it as well
This Blaster is absolutely mint.
to this day this thing is way cooler than some yfz250
I have two blaster 200’s rebuilt them and everything I love the blasters
Single best mod for Blasters is a head re-cut to 20cc's/ 11 degree/50% squish. That alone is good for upper 20's for HP. No re-jetting required.
These blasters were such cool bikes. It’s a shame these are most all neglected nowadays.
It is a shame, but it's great that the aftermarket for them is available and relatively inexpensive
And the venerable IT200 motor lives on almost 40 years later. The Yamaha IT175 morphed into the 200 in 84’, I sure miss my 86’
They use to sell a strocker kit for them, I've rebuilt 3 of them and did the head squish. And that really made a difference, the jetting always seemed to be a nightmare, because when I had high humidity or low humidity, was always changing jets. Fmf fatty pipe is the way to go, pulling wheelies easily thru first 3 gears. Getting over 60 miles per hour, tho, got a bit nervous for me, on the front end wobble started to shop up for my beast. Fun rippers they are. I do seem to have to at the atv trail park, mersailes il, shifting alot from 3rd to 2nd, or vise versa. Jumps and bumps. Steep hills, were definitely, especially long Steep hills, after 3rd gear. Really 4th could be a issue for the power band on the hill. Really easy to recline fast in 2nd and 3rd. And well we all know 1st, a brap and u were hitting the redline.
I use to have that exact same machine, either 05 or 06, can't remember. Good little units though. Reliable, and easy to work on.
Nice little 2 stroke rippers !!
First big atv I ever rode and then turned to dirtbikes and I want to build another blaster eventually
Good videos man thanks for this!!
Un real, this is awesome.🤙🏼
That’s a beautiful Blaster Guy ‘s.!!! I really thinking to you need to check mine out. Ive done so much business with you guys over the years of owning it for 24 years🤘🤘🤘
Nice clean oemish looking build
Clean blaster!
Would love to see the OEM carbs come back in stock!
I had a 05 blaster I big bored it put vforce reeds, and the same fmf exhaust you got I think it was making well over 40 hp 😮
I had one 10 years ago, I'd throw it around like a toy in the snow and ice 😆
I slowly destroyed it by beating the absolute snot out of it. The bushings were bad, the clutch handle was a short brake handle from an 80s Mongoose BMX bike, and no brakes.
Eventually the throttle cable split while riding and left the throttle wide open in my backyard, so I just plowed it into a tree instead of my neighbors fence because there was zero room to turn 😆 I still got $200 for it and it apparently got fixed up 🤷 I really needed the cash at the time.
Brings back memories. I’m a little disappointed you guys didn’t do a right bend pipe and slap a front end on this. Really changes the feel and handling of these little quads. Trinity use to do a 265 kit for these
Helllllll yeah!!!!
More sport quad content!
Sweet video ! I think you could of chose a better pipe system tho
Where is this riding area? I have family in Utah and ride there a couple times a year. Looks scenic and fun.
Just got a 1998 yamaha I'm in the game
I just rebuilt my 91 Yamaha blaster turns on first kick sounds great but I dont get any power while riding it if anyone could help me with what could be wrong I would appreciate it.
What are your jetting specs for anyone wanting to run this exact setup 🙏🙏🙏
Any of the aftermarket kits are a gamble at best. I've literally seen hundreds of these kits fail. Top end bearing cages are too tight and don't allow for expansion of the pins, cylinder wall to piston skirt tolerances are usually insufficient, port entries aren't chamfered, gaskets are made of poor quality materials, and the cast liners are porous and soft. The kits CAN be made to work but most of them need attention out of the box. Other than that, nice video.
I wish i had sponsors because i know how to work on all types of atvs and dirtbike i have a 2002 yamaha blaster custom and i am customizing a hayabusa engine on a atv frame
Can you make a vid on suspension upgrades for the blaster?
Diamond J Customs sell upper mount relocation brackets to run a taller shock. I run TRX 450R front/rear shocks on mine and the difference is nothing short of a game changer.
Any chance of you peeps find a LA Sleeve 240 kit? Let me know please.
Question.. 120psi for a blaster engine, it’s ok or needs rebuilt?, thanks for your videos.
Not digging that china top end. When she goes it may be catastrophic. Ported Oem and head work will give you great gains. Vitos is a great choice but will need port work and supporting mods, $$$. Not to mention suspension. Good to see you bringing back this classic.
Can you update your parts list to include the bearings and seals replacement parts and the axle nuts if the ones you showed don't come with the Tusk axle? Doing a Blaster project right now and adding many of the parts to my shopping cart :-)
We'll get on that. In the meantime you can use the parts finder for your Blaster and it will show you everything we have for them. The Tusk axle does come with the axle nut, castle nuts, spacers, cotter pins and collars. www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/2006-yamaha-blaster-200 -Charles
I would like to restore a blaster
Good luck getting any fmf parts for a blaster... been waiting over 2 years for the adapter for the gold series fatty. They arent even answering the phone there lol
Is there anything the older ones can do for better stopping power? Or a hydro switch over?
Staying on top of adjustment, using fresh pads and making sure the drums are clean is about all you can do. They stop fine in my experience if you do that.
I don't think any drop in hydraulic brake kits exist but anything's possible with a welder and some fabrication skills.
🤟🏼🤟🏼🔥🔥
Hey what jetting set up did you come up with finally ? Nice Blaster 😎
Jetting is area/weather dependent. If you just remove the airbox lid you need to go up one size on the main. if you add the exhaust with it, you will need to go several sizes richer still. Stock needle with the clip in the middle slot and stock pilot with the air screw set to obtain the fastest, most stable idle. Stock main is a 230, you will end up somewhere between a 260-300 with the lid removed and exhaust.
I always wondered why Yamaha didnt put this motor into an enduro chassis bike. A more modern WR200
How did the hp gains turn out? Stick was 17, but I didn’t hear anything about your results.
It definitely woke it up, the powerband feels broader, it's spicier, sounds way better, and doesn't feel choked up anymore. It's obviously not going to be a crazy horsepower increase and we didn't dyno it. These are just the practical mods that are going to give it a little more pep. -Charles
Nice. 350 raptor or 200 blaster ?😃
What is the wheel specs?
We added the Tusk tether …. But don’t attach it lol
კარგია და როგორ გამოვიწერო .
NO MUSIC
Now, I feel bad for letting my heavily modded Blaster sit in a dusty shop. 😢
Your air filter washer is on upside down.
'Bout $2200 in upgrades?
I thought you said you went modest and not breaking the bank lol that’s like 4-5k$ in parts alone
I don't think it was that much. But hey, some people are dumping way more than that so I guess it's all perspective. 😂If I could narrow it down, my top things would be the pipe, intake (dual stage reeds/lid/spacer) jetting and at least the front wheel spacers just because it's so narrow. I feel like all of that is pretty reasonable and you're going to notice a big difference. 🤷♂-Charles
@@rmatvmc pipe and reeds are definitely reasonable lol custom wheels and stuff add up quickly. Super nice blaster though! People see these videos and expect me to build this stuff for $1000 and I’m like dude it doesn’t work like that lol
@rmatvmc That QA China top end is junk and a good way to destroy your cases when the parts fail. I honestly can't believe you guys would stand behind a product like this. These cheap junk kits are causing people to throw away perfectly good, and in some cases hard to find oem cylinders in favor of these, just to have the engine grenade in the first 10 hrs (if it even makes it through break-in) These cheap knockoff's are ruining the market. buy a quality piston, gasket set and have the oem cylinder bored to fit the oversize piston and you will have no problems people.
Too bad these are all junk now… y’all should do a 250x build
Every month or so a mint one will come across my marketplace search. It’s gone in a flash.
£150 shipping for a bumper lol
I hate nerf bars
I can't believe you guys stand behind piece of crap chinese rebuild kits smh. Stick with OEM or known quality aftermarket. Do it right or do it twice
Haha you did not even split cases 🤣 and you say you rebuilt bottom end? Seriously?
I replaced the crank. 🤷♂ Why do you think we didn't? That would be pretty hard to do without splitting the cases 😂. No worries either way, but we have a bottom end rebuild video coming out soon so stay tuned! -Charles
One of the worst quads to do this on , suspension sucks, very uncomfortable.
Check out all the parts and accessories we added to our Yamaha Blaster 200 here! www.rockymountainatvmc.com/Sales/3558/Yamaha-Blaster-200-ATV-Build
What year is that
This Blaster is a 2006 model.
What size jet did you end up using for this setup? I want to do the same mods
