Hope it all works out. A friend of mine who was a HGV driver died at south mimms truck stop when he stopped to eat his lunch. Blood clot straight to his heart killed him instantly. Got air lifted to Lister hospital but couldn’t save him. Early 50’s. Was absolutely devasting to his family as he always sort of joked about feeling unwell but carried on. Good luck
Wish you well mate. Been down that road of poor diet, drinks, and not resting or sleeping enough. Unfortunately, it does catch up with you as you get older. Since the start of covid we have really changed our eating habits and cook and eat mostly fresh food now, with the exception of cheap pizzas from Aldi, maybe once a week 😂! I hardly drink any fizzy stuff and try to maintain a good nights sleep. Really notice the difference, have more energy and feel far more alert when driving/working. And the bonus is, a bit more cash in the pocket!
Get well soon. Got my test soon so once I start working I’ll bring my gym kit and shower kit and when loading or I get the chance inbetween work I will run for half an hour
I'm 33, just came back on Tippers after doing cage work so my steps are basically nil now! I've been intermittent fasting and bought a little stepper machine for in the house 20 mins on it and I'm sweating buckets! It's hard finding time to go the gym working long hours and with a young family mate! Good luck 👍
Really hope all goes well mate. I agree it's very easy to fall into bad diet habits on the road, most of us are guilty of it at some point. One thing I did was get a 12v food warmer from eBay and batch cook healthy meals at weekends, freeze them, defrost the night before work, and voila hot food on the go that keeps me away from junk food. I also get flavoured water from Aldi (4 packs) which I like and avoids excess sugar and caffeine but hey a coffee is good too. To be fair I learned a lot about healthy eating when the Mrs was diagnosed with diabetes and you learn what to look for with food. I freely admit I still get tempted by certain burger vans etc and sometimes I do slip but hey we're all human. All the best mate and everything crossed for you.
Yeah im alot better recently but its very easy to pop back down that rabbit hole, this is definitely a wake up call for me and i will be cutting alot of crap out of my life. The hardest one was smoking and i have been off that for almost a year now 💪
@@truckitprayle yeah smoking is a biggy. The Mrs and me gave up 8 yrs ago and both of us can't stand the smell of fags now. She gave up right away, I was a very heavy smoker and went on the vape and whittling it down now but hey way better than the fags. It's amazing how much better you feel tobacco free.
I wish you well mate . I’m a personal trainer and part time class 1 driver . I won’t do full time trucking as it’s too much of a health sacrifice for me . Get better could be pre diabetes mate
