I’ll be running a decimator Dori at Columbus coming up next weekend. I’m really digging this play style a lot!

I've built mine more for fatigue til now, but I might have to try the more offense list like that. I'm loving the axe so much.
Swinging for 10 feels so good.

It seems like you came to the same conclusions that I did last week. Might I recommend Brandish (Red) for Dromai?

Not only MAY you, but that's a fantastic suggestion!

Do you ever feel like buffing the Axe is a bit counterintuitive? I found in a buff heavy axe build is actually turns their D-Reacts live again after they block with a card from hand.
I've found more success with a grindy build that just swings the axe once a turn if it can, always netting maximum value.

That's a valid thing I think. This kinda makes Dauntless over of the better standard buffs I think. Otherwise yeah this could be a good argument for the idea to add in a sprinkling of attack actions or something.

I'm firmly of the belief that the Decimator axe build is only good when your opponent is blocking, which turns on your reprise. To do that, you need to force them into blocking range.
You mention maximum value - but you're only truly getting maximum value from the axe when they block.
if you're going straight fatigue, I'm of the opinion that Guardians just do it better.

This deck looks like a ton of fun! Do you have any insights on Decimator in blitz? I just started playing and my small community only plays that format.

I won a skirmish with it in blitz, so it can perform I think better than in CC actually. Just need to be patient and adjust some tools for the onshore you expect to face.

@@anja2792 Do you mind posting a decklist? I'm not very good at building decks yet.

I think it's good in blitz too. Basically just take the shell and 2/3's it, minus some of the sideboard cards. Same philosophy, but probably skew a littler more defensive.

just curious: have you worked on a post heavy hitters version of this deck?

Have you found much success against Iyslander? I'm struggling to be fast enough against her with the axe.

    • @DiceCommando
      @DiceCommando Рік тому

I'm playing the more aggressive version, so I'd say I'm a positive win-rate against her. That said, since it's still not aggressive, if she manages to get her Frost Hexes down early it's pretty much over.

@@DiceCommando makes sense. Playing more face up with pumps encourages people to block more which is where this deck shines into most opponents, but they do feel like a liability into her specifically.
