I'm from Poole and have been going to swanage for over 50 years and I don't think it has changed at all Its as if time has stood still there Have been on the steam train a few times to Corfe Castle and that place has the same feel about it
Just so you know, Portland is where Portland stone comes from. Purbeck is where Purbeck stone comes from. The two are like 30 miles apart. There is pretty much zero Portland stone in Swanage.
@@explorizm no problem, there's a ton of things to learn about the area, lots of history. I was born there, fished from there and explored there before deciding my sister and her kids we're complete poison and moved to Canada !!

You can get the train from Wareham to Swanage (it's the steam railway's DMUs) I plan on doing so myself this week
