Bakersfield College Drumline 2020.
The 2020 season was cut short due to the growing concerns with Covid-19. These 36 members (and staff) worked hard for months on end to head to WGI world championships. With cancellations happening around early March, the ensemble barely had time to finish their 2020 program. They were fortunate to get together one last time and document.
Bound tO eXist
Set in an abstract work environment, Bound tO eXist will showcase the emotional and physical struggle of work/life balance. Exploring the feeling of being bound to our monotonous realities versus the natural human need for a purpose to exist that is governed by fate. Breaking away from routine and ritualistic habits in order to fulfill one’s dreams and avoid insanity.
The word “bound” has double meaning. 1. Bound as in restricted and contained. 2. Bound as in destined to do something. So the title has a negative and a positive spin to it.
Additionally, emphasizing the letters B, O, and X to spell out Box.
