Totally with you on being polite and courteous to walkers; I ride cheeky trails quite often but always give way and am always cheery and polite and very rarely get any negativity. Unfortunately, not all bikers are the same, think they own all trails and see walkers as being a hindrance to their Strava times; I like to call them bellends. The footage from the Seven is worth the hassle; the audio was pretty spot on too.
The first downhil trail is called Town Brook... In the past There were NT signs saying no bikers. Like Jim says... Please choose carefully when to ride down there. It's such an amazing bit of trail. I went down there recently. Luckily I only met two walkers who were extremely polite. Great vid Jim
When I last did the last down hill on from the gliders club there was some mad dog by the farmers house that whenever you went past they would be that crazy. I always found extra power to get out of there when them dog was there.
Being from Telford often up in all weather, I tend to ride any trail if you can access it and rarely have a problem with hikers as like you demonstrated I always stop and give way, but I have to be honest to observing that many don't and the reason there are problems at times. The first trail you did down I did up on my very first visit to the area and it was impossible (for me) the higher up I got. There is a brilliant short drop down to carding mill just above willow batch that will rattle your bones
The one time I did the whole climb up Motts road, I got to the top hoping to collapse on the grass, to find a school party there and the teacher decided to lead a round of applause from the kids to spur me on.....I had to cycle on until out of sight until I could collapse and quietly have a heart attack....
Jim I’m running a 32t up front and 11-42 XT on 27.5. Struggle a bit as 56 now. Hard work round Degla on the black climbs. Was thinking of trying a 11-46. What the jump in ratio’s like ? Or Suntour 11-46 as ratio’s closer. Great vid BTW. Hero 7 is brill dude. Hope to get on this trail with my son come spring.
Great vid, love the informal style as always. First decent looks ace, never seen that before and ridden there a few times. Also, does Rob Brydon always eat sandwiches longways!?
@13.30 .... tut tut the footpath police are about ya know 😂😂 we usually hit Townbrook very early before the walkers start walking up it ... its a mint descent though
I have stopped going to Longmynd coz of walkers having a go at me when I was riding over there. One walker tried pushing myself & my wife off our bikes.
Thinking of tackling this trail with some mates but we all have an awful sense of direction. Is it well sign posted? I've heard you need map reading skills.

Great riding up there. Fair play trying to pedal up from Carding Mill Valley Jim, I always default to a bit of hike a bike up there.
Great video. Love the way you explained the trail. Imagine it will be an amazing ride when the sun is shining. Fancy doing it soon
🙏
I did the carding mill bit on foot.was wet being Nov. Difficult on foot, wouls be impossible on bike

I certainly wouldn't go back from the big hearing, you could also go smaller and oval on the front, oval has helped my knees no end!
@@PinnedTV I have been using an oval for 7 months Jim and agree great for the knees..You anything for my bad back . lol
Show the folks Ridge Run next time, loving it
Now that's a great idea!
Before going down Minton, try put some spit on the lens 👍

What's with the weird reverb in the voice?
It's the wind reduction mixed with the foam jacket, or SRAM fitted it! 😁
GoPro never ending story 🤷♂️
nice
Why would you carry a pack with plugs and no spare tube? 🤷🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
I had one, but he can nob off!! 😁😁
