Curtains - a poetry adaptation by Parcel Creatives

If eyes-
are the windows to the soul,
Then to the soul,
Eyes are windows to the world.
But our streets are filled
With curtains
drawn.
Day and night,
We try desperately to see in to homes,
Only to realize that we cannot see in
Because we cannot see out.
And yet
The only way to draw our own curtains open
Is to turn around
And dwell inside for a little while.
Then
Both all of a sudden
And a bit at a time
You will find
That there’s a crack.
And the lights starts creeping in
And you start to see a room
Filled with funny old things
things that hurt
Things that feel like a lifetime ago.
And you start to rearrange
And make space
And through the clutter
You see a door.
