Nice job. I am in the same boat: I have a converted PM 728 CNC and have dabbled into knife making , motorcycle parts, prototype parts. I use SW for Cad and fusion 360 for cam. What is your day job if any ? Regards
Awesome. Would love to see some of your work on the 727. If you're using SW, i'd recommend trying HSMWorks plugin. If you change your model, your toolpaths will update automatically and it's virtually identical to Fusion360 Cam - The HSMWorks plugin is by Autodesk - so it's really the same bones. It's $90/month - so a little more than FUsion360 i THINK.... but i enjoyed the switch over. I'm a mechanical engineer in manufacturing from 9-5 mon-fri.
Hi kivi - I recommend the Precision Matthews PM30-MV. I have a small garage too and it works just fine. Have a look at a video where I talk about doing the conversion, and some other mill alternative here: Convert a Bench Mill to CNC - Everything You Need to Know ua-cam.com/video/bN_D3NWwdu4/v-deo.html
Great stuff. I’ve been making knives for awhile and just ordered a CNC mill. Would you consider sharing the Fusion 360 file. I just started watching tutorials and a knife template would be an awesome way to jumpstart my progress. Cheers
Hi Ira. The knife is designed in solidworks - not fusion. I could export a step file you could look at and even use for machining but you will not be able to edit the features. If you’d like to shoot me your email i will send over the files
Hi it'sjustReid - You're in the right place. Everything I learned was from youtube. Look up "CNC Conversions" for information on how to build the actual machine, and look up "CNC Programming Basics" and "Fusion 360 Basics" to learn about how to make toolpaths on a computer and how to design things in 3D.
Wonderful work , keep creating more stuffs
That´s cool! I have a ton of knives I have made over the years in fusion 360 but I have actually never had the chance of seeing them done in real life
Looks very similar to Gough customs knives
Yes - love his knife and he’s a great teacher
Great work and great video! Keep it up :)

Man your knowledge of the software is so unreal bro!!
Cheers, Sean! Appreciate the kind words - as always. - Adam
Would you be interested in making me a drawing so I could cut my handles out on a CNC router
What cnc mill do you recommend for starting into this? Small garage.

Thanks for the interest and kind words. I’m not making any knives at the moment but it feels great to have someone appreciate my work! Cheers!

@@adamdebowski2037 i like your work! The knives look so so so beautiful. Keep going. Cheers
Man, this is everything I need. What’s the best way to go about learning this?
