Your videos have been mad helpful man, I’m getting the same keyboard as my first mechanical keyboard. Getting some films & different set of keycaps as well. Im only hearing that lubing the switches and putting the films will be mad tedious so we’ll see how that goes lol. Preciate your review!
Wow! This is a really nice mod! I'm getting the same keyboard, but thinking to add silicone mod and new keycaps. Super excited. I wonder if there is a way to swap that battery to a bigger capacity one.
Wonderful! Thank you so much for taking your valuable time and resources to make this video. Also a big thanks for those links, Im buying that silicon mat. Your keyboard sounds and looks terrific! Congratulations! I would love to see a stabilizer video though and a sound comparison sometime. I know you said you're done with this board but then again, you've come so far with it! :-)
Hey man. Thanks for the vid. I just bought the rk 89 and I'm very happy with it. I was thinking on getting backlit, front print keycaps. Would these work on this keyboard? Since the led is located in the north face if the switch? Thank you!
Hi Eshcole, been looking for a long term review of the rk100. I hope you can do some. I know this keeb is a very budget prebuilt board. I wanna make sure even for $47. It’s be worth. No issue’s with bluetooth, 2.4ghz, wired. Also, mainly the pcb. Have a great day!
Thanks for this video and information, I'm looking at the same keyboard and wanting to do a diy kit as well. This information helps when you are just getting into it like me.
Nope, it's a great keyboard. A bit of a pain to mod due to the frame but other than that, you can use it fine out of the box or mod to make it your own. If you don't like the blue backlight, I would recommend getting the RGB version.
Good video. Question... I saw a video of a guy lining his keyboard with pennies. To provide some extra weight and dampening, would there be enough space in your build to add a layer of pennies and some very thin double sided tape under the silicon mat?
There's a red light indicator on the front of the board when it's charging and when there's no light it should be fully charged. I don't really go by that cause my wrist rests blocks the front indicators. I let it charge up all night and it's good for at least a week if not much longer depending on which mode my led backlight is set to.
It's still my main keyboard and I still love the sound. As some have pointed out the blue backlight is not for everyone and the stock keycaps are not the best but if you're looking for something to play with, it's a good keyboard. I use mines for both work and gaming wireless.
Without the mods, I prefer the K4. Out of the box the typing experience is great. Not to mention support from Keychron is a lot better than Royal Kludge who seems to be all over the place when it comes to their website and support for their products. There's people in these comments who actually believe my board is fake cause it's that difficult to find and navigate RK's website. 🤦🏿♂️
To my knowledge you will have to map that key using software (there's a few different keyboard mapping apps for mac and windows) if you don't want to use the one on the numpad. I'm not familiar with the process as I've never done it before myself.
@@waterboyd this is great! You're correct, Shift+Num1 is easier! However I cannot remap my keys using the RK software because of the risk of bricking it as per keeb groups. Is there any way to remap the keys?
I forgot to say the 0 key is NOT apart of the key cap set. It's the original. That was the one key missing from this set. 🤦🏾♂️
Was about to say why all but that was shining lol
You've inspired me to customize my own rk100 which is now my daily driver! Thank you!
Thank you so much for your videos. I originally planned to put foam on my RK100, but now I'll choose the silicon mat instead.
Thanks!
Awesome video dude. Keep posting, you got the voice for this.

I just bught mine in the white black and orange color. Thanks for the three videos really hepful I learned a lot
Got my RK100 for 50%,, definitely a great keyboard!

Love the keycaps in blue, unfortunatelly they are not available for ISO-DE :-/
great video !
Have you had any complaints about the keyboard? Great video by the way!

hi kailh jade switches compatible with rk100?
is it true that white rk offers better rgb than black rk?
do you know what stabilizer upgrades could be used on this keyboard?
Good video. Question... I saw a video of a guy lining his keyboard with pennies. To provide some extra weight and dampening, would there be enough space in your build to add a layer of pennies and some very thin double sided tape under the silicon mat?
I would say no. The pennies might fit but in certain parts of the board adding both pennies and tape might be too much.
How does charging this work? I've been charging mine for hours and idk when it's fully charge.

Damn that's more expensive
But my rk100 build has a gateron ink v2
And an akko keycaps for same value of $200
I have the same kb and planning to mod it too. The silicone mat from your link has two thickness (0.8mm & 1.8mm), which thickness did you get??
Get the thinnest one, 0.8mm.
How's your RK100 treating you now? Thinking about buying one atm

Dam... these keycaps are nice! Perfect set for my rk100, but why no "0" ?!! 😠
That 1u zero key isn't from the linked set is it?
Ah, correct I was supposed to edit in something saying that. Nice catch. I'll update the description.
@@Eshcole you had to go and get my hopes up...thanks for the video man!
Nice vid🤩
this keyboard hasn't End button, is there a way to use the End key? (without NumLock). Thank!
To my knowledge you will have to map that key using software (there's a few different keyboard mapping apps for mac and windows) if you don't want to use the one on the numpad. I'm not familiar with the process as I've never done it before myself.
You may also try pressing Fn + Page down button. It worked for me.
I think press Shift+Num1 easier than Fn+PgDn but remap key is the best. My 5-keys upper right are HOME,DEL,INS,PAUSE,END

I CANNOT TAKE OUT THE CASE! WHAT I DO? I ALSO CANT TAKE OUT THE PLUS SWITCH!
Sounds exactly the same lol
