I had never heard or seen what the answer "if you see me go" meant. I have always heard it as just an indicator since Elijah didn't know the answer, like a fleece. "if the fleece is wet and the grass is dry..." type of thing.
But no, it was, "watch me, learn from me, be my fervent disciple, and you will be prepared for even more than I am able to carry."
It is what Jesus says to us.
Never take your eyes off of Me, and I will teach you all you need to know and prepare you for a great outpouring.
And I can certainly relate to the warning that the more power and ability that you are given, the more damage you can do when you fall.

A hard, but great, word.
The concept of the 'double portion' in hebrew culture is different than what the words imply. A 'Double portion' is given from the inheritance left by the father to the firstborn who would take responsibility for the rest of the family. So if the father had 3 sons, he'd divide the inheritance by 4 - 2 portions to the firstborn and the other sons get a portion each. So the concept of the double portion was Elisha asking to be seen as Elijah's firstborn - the rightful heir to his ministry. So it has nothing to do with anointing but rather Elisha was asking to be the one to continue Elijah's ministry and take responsibility for it. Sorry guys, I love Bill so much, but a little bit of history goes a long way to understanding the biblical narrative.
I'm sure Bill understands that, what he was saying here was to make a point on waiting on God.

Nope. It is God who gave the anointing not Elijiah. So it wasn’t Elijah’s “job” to figure out how to get Elisha a double portion. Bill Johnson preaches a man-centered theology.
“The farther you go in God, the more casualties you cause when you fail.“ What a ridiculous statement! Again, a beautiful example of Johnson’s theology centering around man & not God.

No, it was Elijah that told Elisha what to do. God did not tell Elishas how to get it.

@@gwendaallsworth1575 Yes but do we see that in scripture. No. Elisha says if you see me go into the air then you will receive the double portion.
