Waaaayyyyy late but you 5 crack me up. I didn't know what 1080 120hz felt like until someone dumped a free monitor as they moved out of my apt. I plugged it into my PS4 to see if it worked. I sat there yelling to my wife, "Holy S#it! What is this magic?!?!" I am so glad you guys found ur monitors full capabilities. I know the feeling!
Hello, I had the exact same issue but I figured out a solution. Basically go to settings and right below advanced display settings is something called “graphics settings” then unselect the current setting and click 1920x1080 and you will be good to go. Hope this helps
I have an MSI Optix MAG342CQR that I connect to my laptop using HDMI 2.1 cable. The maximal frequency available with this configuration is 100 Hz. I have no DP port on my laptop. How can I solve this problem and enable 144 Hz? Is there any DP-HDMI adapter that you can recommend?
Depending on your Xbox, it will need to be able to output a video signal that's capable of a 120Hz refresh rate over HDMI 2.0 or 2.1. It seems like the Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S will be capable of delivering a 120Hz experience, however, you will need to double-check that the monitor you have is equipped with an HDMI 2.0 or 2.1 port that is capable of receiving a signal with a 120Hz refresh rate. We're not too familiar with Xbox on our end, so we suggest checking out their support resources here: support.xbox.com/en-US/help/hardware-network/display-sound/4k-gaming-at-120hz

Hi, does anyone know what my problem is, I have a monitor which says in the box 170hz and Iam on my computer now and the max I can put it up to is 144hz. (I got the monitor from the shop I didnt buy second hand)
My monitor is 165hz but it doesn’t give me a option in windows or Nvidia control panel to select 165hz the maximum is 144hz. Does anyone know why this is?
We would recommend using DisplayPort-to-DisplayPort cable. Using an HDMI to DisplayPort adapter may limit the maximum refresh rate to 60Hz, and we've found it best and easiest to use a DP-to-DP cable and changing the refresh rate either through NVIDIA Control Panel (if using an NVIDIA GPU) or through Window's Advanced Display Properties.
@@MSI_USA Literally the thing comes with a HDMI to HDMI cable and no instructions on how to get higher refresh rates - I bought this assuming it was HDMI since it has 2 HDMI and comes with a HDMI cable. With what is supplied this is a 60hz device. Why are you misleading the buyer?

My gs77 (3060 version) says it comes with a 360hz monitor (on the laptop) but it caps out at 144? Is it because the laptop's monitor is used with an HDMI instead of display port, if so, why do I have to purchase a new monitor to use it?

Hey there Gapi Cer, if the option isn't available in the NVIDIA Control Panel, you can still adjust your monitor's refresh rate through Windows settings that we demonstrated with the AMD Radeon graphics card as that works with both AMD and NVIDIA.

Hey, I just bought a 144 hz monitor but the maximum is 120 hz. Is it because I’m using a laptop with integrated graphics? Or because I am using a hdmi cable?
