I was laughing as you were freaking out about the bear when Captain was hitting pinecones. Not because of your fear but because captain reminds me of my son “okay mom…in a second”😂.

I just switched back to ole school hiking boots, Lowa, because of ankle issues and it made a difference. Especially on rocky, rooty trails. I do still wear my trail runners on sandy trails but I have also found that the hiking boots work good in deep sand. I have along list of foot problems which includes a lot of metal and I have found that taking my shoes and socks off every few hours, soaking in cold wear and if I can switch between to pair of shoes during the day really helps. My surgeon gave me those tips and it has served me well. Walk on!

I'm SO glad it was just tendonitis and I say "just" because, as you said, you could have fractured your foot! Happy for you and hope the new shoes/boots will fix it all!

I think you will really appreciate hiking boots in rocky PA. I know when I go for any distance with my Hokas, I can feel it and wish I had boots. I know a lot of people swear by trail shoes, but some of us just need that support.

After a day hiking, by all means, remove the boots and let them ait out and walk around the campsite or town in regular sneekers.

You know people used hiking boots for years with no problem, for a reason, one being great support on on ankles. You are smart switching to hiking boots, I hope that helps. ❤️

So glad you got your feet looked at. I wear Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots because I have weak ankles. I like them. But I don’t walk the distances that you do. Good luck. You’ll find what works best for you.

There is such a thing called "Achilles tendonitis" and an ankle brace can help with that. Just thinking you could consider a brace vs boots (if you didn't really want to go that route)... or even an ace bandage, properly wrapped, could give support... just a thought ❤

Hi guys, l love your videos. Never comment but since Sunshine is vocal about her pains wanted give you something to ponder.. I was in pain in my beginnings with hiking until got right shoes, compression socks and all that. But hiking poles saved me most from pains and I noticed from start Sunshine that you using somewhat different your poles than other seasoned hikers. Took me a bit to learn but now my poles are like extensions to my body. See if you put your right pole with left foot extended like you normally would walk it would help cause that way you balance your body on each side and take pressure off each leg. If that makes sense. Good luck. Hope you feel better ❤

Urgent care centers typically have x-ray machines. You could probably call a head and save time rather than going to an ER.

Not saying this is true for you but I hurt my ankle once and the dr said it was a sprain. Treatment was wearing a boot for a couple of weeks but the ankle was still hurting. Then the dr put me on crutches after a couple of weeks where there was no improvement I was sent to an orthopedist. He did a mri and it showed I had torn my perineal tendon. It required surgery and he said because it took so long to get diagnosed the recovery would be double the time it had taken to get it fixed. Not fun at all

I have sooo much shoe advice. You'll figure it out. Listen to the outfitter not what you think it is that will help. P.s. When I was a runner, I had an issue with those tendons. I know you'll find the answer to it. P.s. Please make sure you have a real shoe expert, and not someone new etc...

I follow of of your vlogs, since Sailing your Boat. I was just wondering, why you guys gave yourselves your trail names, instead, let the trail experience speak to you and name each one of you with a fun trail nickname? just wondering, there is nothing wrong with sunshine or capitain .
