Memorias Porteñas - Gobernación Marítima / Port Memories - Maritime Government

La Gobernación Marítima de Valparaíso ubicada en Av. Errázuriz Nº 537, Comuna de Valparaíso, fue utilizada como recinto de detención e interrogatorio de presos políticos.
Los presos politicos eran trasladados a este recinto para ser interrogados; ahí eran objeto de torturas y malos tratos. El Informe Valech afirma que especialmente desde los buques prisión se trasladaban a este lugar a algunos prisioneros, transitoriamente, para ser interrogados; en los interrogatorios se les aplicaban torturas.

The Maritime Government of Valparaíso, located at 537 Errázuriz Avenue, Valparaíso, was used as a detention and interrogation center for political prisoners.
Political prisoners were taken to this facility for interrogation; there they were subjected to torture and ill-treatment. The Valech Report states that especially from the prison ships some prisoners were transferred to this place, temporarily, to be interrogated; in the interrogations they were subjected to torture.
