Pressure Cooker Leaking Steam [DIY Repair] Jan 2019

In this video I'm showing you how to remove and replace old worn out gaskets on a Prestige pressure cooker.
Over time these gaskets need replacing due to wear and tear.
When my wife noticed how long it took to cook food in the cooker, I knew I had to get involved.
The reason for the long cook times was a missing rubber washer, also known as a gasket, and faulty valve stem.
I ordered a new set on Amazon and got it in 2 days thanks to prime membership.
Using simple tools that most people should have around the house, I remove the old parts and replaced them with new.
Once everything is put back together, food is ready in half the time it was taking.

Hi, my pressure cooker leaks evrything from the handle and also from the side ways, lid is same like this..

Check the lid. Turn it over and see if the black rubber ring is still good. If not replace that. Usually that's the number one problem. Here's a link on amazon to buy a replacement:

It depends on temperature and what ur cooking. Usually with rice it takes about 15 minutes for first whistle.

I've got the same system. It's producing a big sound instead of whisle. Pressure is building up but when it's time to whisle 1 big noise is coming and pressure getting leaked. I changed the rubber gasket, safety valve and the vent tube also .. all new now . But still the prob exists. Pls help me with a solution

@@SonynoS problem got solved. It was a bent on the cooked & got repaired by rectifying with a hammer sort of thing in a shop

The gasket of the prestige cooker gets spoiled moe oftern. Don't go for prestige items. Purchase Hawkings cooker it will not show this type of problem. sure.

You can buy a new 6 quart pressure cooker for less than $ 30, and buy some wrenches and sockets.
