I fully relate- I'm nearly 22 and I've never been kissed, had sex or been in a relationship. Honestly, there's nothing wrong with it. I've been single my whole life, I've never even tried dating as I knew no man would ever find me attractive. It's been difficult and upsetting at times, but I decided it's easier to just accept my place in this world, it is what it is.

Also, I get that people mean well when they say stuff like “just work on yourself, you don’t need anyone to feel complete” and that’s all nice and true, but the fact of the matter is life IS easier when you have someone you love (and they love you back) by your side. Sure, we all came into this world and will leave it alone, but the desire to find another human being to give love to and receive affection from is so hard-wired and natural to us that to be deprived of it does kinda lead to feeling a bit empty and like life is a lot harder than it has to be. If you’re fortunate enough to meet someone, have that connection, and it’s shared by both of you-it’s so incredibly powerful and rewarding. I’ll stop the rant here, but yeah, living alone has its dark and gloomy moments and I’m not too fond of romanticizing it.

Lizzy is a great inspiration for me, and none of us are undatable, it just takes some of us reaching a different age or time in our lives when the stars just align in the right way for us. I used to get sad too, thinking everyone else had kids but me, everyone had everything else but me, and all I did was work and watch TV every day. Now I just learned to love the life I have and if that means no kids and being alone I have come to accept that and am still happy. Love is a thing for you, don't give up, just enjoy yourself and let things happen for you while you are living your best life.

The way I found my fiancé was when I gave up on everything. I stopped looking for answers, I stopped looking for hope (In all senses of the matter) Then she showed up....and everything made sense. We became such close friends.. then soulmates SO quickly.. They were my other half. I RELAXED about not finding love... and allowed for space for my heart to grow. Because I let my heart grow, I was able to breathe.. and it all felt natural. Also I feel like when you loose your keys and you stop looking... they show up right in front of you in seconds! It's a perception thing... They're there. You just have to stop and allow yourself to just "be". It'll all work out
I can relate to this so much. I'm gonna be 24 in a couple of days and I've dated but I've never had a serious relationship. It kind of makes me feel like crap about myself a lot of the time. Especially with my brother and sister always being in relationships, and my brothers four years younger than me. I'm also so resentful of my friends and family who are in relationships, I try to be supportive but it sucks when it's not happening to me. I'm trying to work on worrying about bettering myself and not focusing on finding a significant other now. I like to think when it's meant to happen it will happen.
24 is so young! don't stress about it, theres someone out there for everyone, and if not there is still friends and family for support and love. my advice would be the exact thing you are doing, focus on yourself! live life and enjoy it while you are completely untied from anyone, and have a ton of fun! work on yourself, do things for you and be selfish about that, take yourself on dates and treat yourself to gifts. I never had any guys interested in me and I was totally down until I did that, and I was so fucking happy and so much fun, and as a silver lining though more men became interested in me, and now I look back it was because I was happy and confident and was living free. (ovb the men being attracted thing was NOT the main goal and was certainly not the reason I did that) take care, sorry for rambling lol

I have pituitary dwarfism, which just means I'm teeny tiny, but fully proportionate. I'm a halfling, really. I have halflingism. More Hobbit than anything, without the hairy feet. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for sharing this. I've only had one serious relationship my whole life and it was forced. I wanted to love him, because loving myself was so much harder. 18 years later, I'm still single and still having a hard time loving myself and this is why I can't find anyone. I'm working hard on it. The truth is, the HONEST TO GOD TRUTH is, we've already found that "perfect someone." It's ourselves and we need to love ourselves the way we want someone else to. Only when we do that will be ready to meet the other half. Love you!

Men are impossible to please anyway. They aren't worth the hassle. I'm 38. Not ugly not pretty completely average in every way. I've been used and thrown away so many times I've decided to give up dating all together. And its so much better than putting yourself out there and getting constantly let down. I pray for my future wife too. I made all the same mistakes. God's timing is perfect, where I get in trouble is when I'm impatient or trying to stay in control. I also have a health condition and have had some success, and I find myself questioning the girls intentions. So far I've stuck out over and over. If you want what you never had, do what you've never done. For me that means loving myself, trusting God, and being patient.
I didn't have my first date until my 30's. As soon as I saw him, I knew I'd end up marrying him. We've been together 6 years and married 2. You're still young, you have plenty of time. It's hard to find someone who will stick with you long term. I don't know how anyone gets married. They make it look so easy but it's not that easy to find a partner.
I think we need to stop feeding people this lie about everyone will someday find their soulmate when that is just not realistic. It does nothing but cause people to get disappointed when they don't find their partner. Some people will die alone and that is a fact.

I’m 28 too and I feel like this is such a strange transition! We’re still technically young but thinking more long term and on a more serious level. The tolerance for shallow interactions is low so going into new situations the mindset is totally different than it was when we were younger.

Here's the thing. There are things that people like to believe are true and there is reality. Everyone wants to believe that there's someone out there for everyone. But it's not true. My 2 older siblings aren't married. And they're above 40 years old. Never had children. It's not like something is wrong with them or anything. One of them is even a doctor and gets a really good income. But he still hasn't found his life partner. Whether people like to believe it or not, looks do matter. Your physical body does matter. It's not only about personality. And hey, what if someone looks unattractive and has an unattractive personality at the same time? Yep. That would suck.

I can totally relate Lizzie! I just turned 23 a month ago and I have never been on a date or had a boyfriend before. I felt just like you in high school watching all my friends go on dates and have boyfriends. I wanted it but I was never asked on a date and I never had enough guts to ask someone out. In college I was so focused on school and meeting and making new friends as I was in a whole new state. I never dated anyone and yet again I watched my friends go on dates and have boyfriends. I have now been out of college for over a year and I often think about how I really want a boyfriend. My brother has been dating his girlfriend for six years. She was his first real girlfriend and they have stayed together and will probably get married soon. This sometimes makes me feel bad about myself. But the other hand I do believe that God is planning this all for me. He knows who he wants me to meet and when. There is a reason he is keeping me from dating and that some day I will meet him and God's vision will become clear. I don't know when that day is but I continue to pray and trust God.

Dating helps you learn what you like and dislike in a partner. It's practice for handling conflict and such. Lessons learned dating are valuable. I'm in my 40's, not a traditionalist, never married, am friends with my ex's for many yrs.

I do know my likes and dislikes very well, despite not having ever been in a committed long-term relationship. I had a friend that was much less attractive than me but I would hang with her because she had an amazing personality. The guys would ask her out much more often than me. Even though I liked her very much, I still considered my self much more prettier than her but I lacked personality. Later on, my friend help me to develop better personality and confidence. I had to learn how to do that but for her, it was natural and the guys knew that. She's got married first with a very handsome guy.
You're going to meet your soul mate when you're ready for it, Lizzie. Many young people feel under pressure to do the same things as their peers at a certain age. That sometimes leads to people settling for a partner that isn't right for them. You're only 28 - you're still so young!!! And maybe you feel a little scared of giving your heart but believe me, when you're ready for it love will come to you. It took me a very very long time to find my lovely man (at a time when I had given up on ever meeting someone) but it was so worth waiting for this amazing person - you just can't put a timeline on matters of the heart. I fully relate- I'm nearly 22 and I've never been kissed, had sex or been in a relationship. Honestly, there's nothing wrong with it. Sure, we all came into this world and will leave it alone, but the desire to find another human being to give love to and receive affection from is so hard-wired and natural to us that to be deprived of it does kinda lead to feeling a bit empty and like life is a lot harder than it has to be. If you’re fortunate enough to meet someone, have that connection, and it’s shared by both of you-it’s so incredibly powerful and rewarding. I’ll stop the rant here, but yeah, living alone has its dark and gloomy moments and I’m not too fond of romanticizing it.

Lizzy is a great inspiration for me, and none of us are undatable, it just takes some of us reaching a different age or time in our lives when the stars just align in the right way for us. I used to get sad too, thinking everyone else had kids but me, everyone had everything else but me, and all I did was work and watch TV every day. Now I just learned to love the life I have and if that means no kids and being alone I have come to accept that and am still happy. Love is a thing for you, don't give up, just enjoy yourself and let things happen for you while you are living your best life.

The way I found my fiancé was when I gave up on everything.

Then she showed up....and everything made sense. We became such close friends.. then soulmates SO quickly.. They were my other half.
I RELAXED about not finding love... and allowed for space for my heart to grow. Because I let my heart grow, I was able to breathe.. and it all felt natural.
Also I feel like when you loose your keys and you stop looking... they show up right in front of you in seconds! It's a perception thing... They're there. You just have to stop and allow yourself to just "be". It'll all work out
I can relate to this so much. I'm gonna be 24 in a couple of days and I've dated but I've never had a serious relationship. It kind of makes me feel like crap about myself a lot of the time. Especially with my brother and sister always being in relationships, and my brothers four years younger than me. I'm also so resentful of my friends and family who are in relationships, I try to be supportive but it sucks when it's not happening to me. I'm trying to work on worrying about bettering myself and not focusing on finding a significant other now. I like to think when it's meant to happen it will happen.
24 is so young! don't stress about it, theres someone out there for everyone, and if not there is still friends and family for support and love. my advice would be the exact thing you are doing, focus on yourself! live life and enjoy it while you are completely untied from anyone, and have a ton of fun! work on yourself, do things for you and be selfish about that, take yourself on dates and treat yourself to gifts. I never had any guys interested in me and I was totally down until I did that, and I was so fucking happy and so much fun, and as a silver lining though more men became interested in me, and now I look back it was because I was happy and confident and was living free. (ovb the men being attracted thing was NOT the main goal and was certainly not the reason I did that) take care, sorry for rambling lol

I have pituitary dwarfism, which just means I'm teeny tiny, but fully proportionate. I'm a halfling, really. I have halflingism. More Hobbit than anything, without the hairy feet. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for sharing this. I've only had one serious relationship my whole life and it was forced. I wanted to love him, because loving myself was so much harder. 18 years later, I'm still single and still having a hard time loving myself and this is why I can't find anyone. I'm working hard on it. The truth is, the HONEST TO GOD TRUTH is, we've already found that "perfect someone." It's ourselves and we need to love ourselves the way we want someone else to. Only when we do that will be ready to meet the other half. Love you!

I hadn't ever heard of Lizzie, didn't know any of the back story behind that vid, I watched it, and just on its own merits, that was one of the top ten most powerfully moving things I've encountered in my 67 years. I’m 28 too and I feel like this is such a strange transition! We’re still technically young but thinking more long term and on a more serious level. The tolerance for shallow interactions is low so going into new situations the mindset is totally different than it was when we were younger.

Here's the thing. There are things that people like to believe are true and there is reality. Everyone wants to believe that there's someone out there for everyone. But it's not true. My 2 older siblings aren't married. And they're above 40 years old. Never had children. It's not like something is wrong with them or anything. One of them is even a doctor and gets a really good income. But he still hasn't found his life partner.
Whether people like to believe it or not, looks do matter. Your physical body does matter. It's not only about personality. And hey, what if someone looks unattractive and has an unattractive personality at the same time? Yep. That would suck.

I felt like I died and it took me a few years to realize I need to fight and live again. God helped me see that I am loved no matter what and I have purpose. So, here I am, no longer bedbound, focusing on bettering myself and dating a wonderful man who truly loves me which I’m truly thankful for but our world should not revolve around a guy. I can totally relate Lizzie! I just turned 23 a month ago and I have never been on a date or had a boyfriend before. I felt just like you in high school watching all my friends go on dates and have boyfriends. I wanted it but I was never asked on a date and I never had enough guts to ask someone out. In college I was so focused on school and meeting and making new friends as I was in a whole new state. I never dated anyone and yet again I watched my friends go on dates and have boyfriends. I have now been out of college for over a year and I often think about how I really want a boyfriend. My brother has been dating his girlfriend for six years. She was his first real girlfriend and they have stayed together and will probably get married soon. This sometimes makes me feel bad about myself. But the other hand I do believe that God is planning this all for me. He knows who he wants me to meet and when. There is a reason he is keeping me from dating and that some day I will meet him and God's vision will become clear. I don't know when that day is but I continue to pray and trust God.

Dating helps you learn what you like and dislike in a partner. It's practice for handling conflict and such. Lessons learned dating are valuable. I'm in my 40's, not a traditionalist, never married, am friends with my ex's for many yrs.

I do know my likes and dislikes very well, despite not having ever been in a committed long-term relationship. I had a friend that was much less attractive than me but I would hang with her because she had an amazing personality. The guys would ask her out much more often than me. Even though I liked her very much, I still considered my self much more prettier than her but I lacked personality. Later on, my friend help me to develop better personality and confidence. I had to learn how to do that but for her, it was natural and the guys knew that. She's got married first with a very handsome guy.

And maybe you feel a little scared of giving your heart but believe me, when you're ready for it love will come to you. Wow I feel your pain I'm 21 and I have never had a boyfriend. I've never even been on a date with a guy that's how lame my life is.
