Mine has 2000 date on the blade, been carrying mine for 21 plus years. Today I stumbled on to Emerson’s web site and ordered a backup, the new one has a stone washed blade rather than black blade.
Option paralysis... That's what it's called. I've had an Amazon wishlist with +100 knives and a shopping cart with 15 knives in it I hadn't pulled the trigger on until March. I've bought 7 knives this year out of boredom. Paralysis is real. I thought I was doing research (that's a lie, I couldn't pick which would be the one for 18 months). Lol Emerson's design language is a thing lol used a Nickism. It hits my spot. The radii of his curves and simplicity and lack of distraction emphasise the tool nature. I'm living Poltergeist Works lately. His language is similar with a little more flair.
Yes, there have been a lot of really cool Poltergeist Works knives and production collaboration knives from them that look amazing, especially the Phenomenon 3. UA-cam that one if you haven't seen it yet.
TheKnifeJunkie And thank you again for shoot and post this video. I found only 2 similar video on UA-cam, one is yours , another one was posted by an ex-police office who carried a Micro-Tech OTF over ten years.
Just got my first commander. What a beast!!! My favorite is still the Emerson ex100
Man. I love Emerson’s.
I have 3 Emerson knives: Commander, Super Commander and Government Mule. Great knives, I keep them clean and sharp and use them wisely. Enjoy...

Forgot to point out mine has the partial serrated blade, ordered the new one also with partial serrated blade. My first Emerson was CQ7 Tanto
Just order mine, wish I am going to carry that one for 20 years as well.
Chu McCurry use it good health!

I'm actually doing the same thing...just bought my first Hinderer and sliming down the collection.
Don't slime down your collection, it will lose value! 😉
I have 2 Emerson knives and will always keep them both. Great knife and cool video 😊

Great video and you got love the old school commanders
Thank you sir!
Update?
Sweet knife and a great story behind it!
Thank you!
Cool knife...just bought my first emerson(tiger). How’d you get that blade so polished?
This knife is 20 years old, so I'm not sure if they were using a different, more polished looking coating, or if time has polished it over.
Really neat blade shape pretty cool. looking forward to this series of vids👍
