“I needed time” “I needed you” that’s the difference between Christopher and Luke, Luke was always for her and could dropped everything just to go with her
Not always. The problem with Luke was he seemed to understand her better and support her better when they were just friends as soon as they became a couple, that friendship support and trust was lost. Their communication was horrible and as we see in the revival nothing changed in that department

Lorelai: "When you weren't there part of me wasn't surprised" Christopher: "That's not fair" Oh yeah Christopher and not being there for half of Rorys life was fair?
Christopher really sounds like a pouty teenager whenever he talks about Luke. He's married to Lorelai, and it still isn't enough. The next scene adds more context, I know, but before that it was just Christopher and his insecurity.
I was really rooting for these two when I was watching series as a kid and wanted them to be one happy family, but going through these clips now I can easily understand why everyone was so harsh on Chris

They wrote it that Luke has a grudge and Chris will never let Lorelei's previous relationship be ok. They went off and got married in another country? Without Rory? Then Chris tried to buy a house that wasn't in Stars Hollow. Luke and Chris should have squared things before they married. It's like he tried to block her from her previous life. There's more to a relationship than money. Success and happiness can be measured in different ways. Her friends in that town and the business was Lorelei's happiness. Having money from it was just a perk. I think Luke had the same ideas about happiness. He didn't want to franchise, Chris never had roots anywhere and there's never a mention of any friends anywhere. Kind of sad, really. All that money and had nobody to share it with. Lorelei was a dream unfulfilled. He actually had his shot at Sookie's wedding. Whether THAT would've worked out is debatable. There still would have been Luke to deal with, but going off and cutting his phone off for two days? Keep the phone on at least to stay connected, otherwise people think you don't really care. Which is what Lorelei really was thinking.
Guys, where did he go? Seriously, for a whole night and day he was gone...but where. I'm convinced he went to a bar and picked up a woman and cheated on Lorelai.
@@lauriecarson6483 Exactly! Even if Chris needed space, he should have texted Lorelai and told her where he was going and for how long, and he shouldn’t have switched off his phone. And when he heard about Richard, he should have stayed in the hospital for as long as Lorelai and Rory were there.
