    I appreciate everything that George Springer brings to the MLB
    He gives 100 % effort whenever he is on the field .
    He is a great teammate and always is a team player .
    He has declined but I’m sure George is doing everything he can to try and fix it that he can .
    I wish him the best , and even if he doesn’t make the turn thank you George for Everything and a great career .

    I still blame Guillermo Martinez for the lack of hitting on the entire Jays team - he is the head hitting coach after all. Good hitters come here then start sucking after a season of his "coaching"...

    • @Dulcimerist
      @Dulcimerist 3 місяці тому +6

      Agreed. One or two players underperforming is one thing, but the entire team underperforming points to the coaching staff.

      Mattingly does nothing either, they need to clean house.

      So true lost at the plate taking pitches down the middle swinging at bad pitches.

      I also think the lack of offense is is putting extra stress on the pitching staff to "be perfect" which is not working out too well for them. They know if they give up a few runs, the Jays are likely losing the game.

      Yeah I’ve been saying it too why the fuck are we talking about blowing up this entire team BEFORE firing this “hitting coach” WTF.

    No disrespect to Springer, but it's not tragic, it was 100% forseeable.
    He was a huge get, and by far the best free agent option the year he was available...but...an aging player with an injury history? Who signs that player to a 6 year contract?
    I wish the man nothing but the best, he seems like a class act, but the current situation is more about mismanagement in the front office than the decline of the player himself.

    I’ve been a long-time George Springer fan since his years at UConn. It tears me up to see him continuously struggle at the plate.
    He’s a wonderful human being and doesn’t deserve to see his wonderful career go down the tube.
    I also feel for Toronto fans. I just feel that if he stayed with Houston things would have been different. It seems ti me, since he became a husband and father that his baseball play has gone down hill.

    Here is a breakdown of Springers positive production percentage. 2020 .707. 2021 .722. 2022 .653. 2023 .583 and 2024 .475. A steady drop since 2021. I would take Springer at 2022 levels. Right now he should not be a starter.

    Over the past year there has been reasons to dump alot pf players. Many of them are still regulars. There will always be debate on how long you allow someone to fix whatever the struggle is. I think they should have dumped Kikuchi and Manoah long ago. They stuck with Kikuchi and he is doing well for now. Some ppl wanted to dump Varsho and Biggio. Everyone's name has come up at some point. I think Springer has alot of talent and affected by whatever garbage is going on within the organization.

    Tragic???? Come on, he's aging and that happens to all people who don't die. Unfortunate is a better way to describe his production.
    It doesn't matter the season is likely done and if they have sense a Total rebuild will happen soon.

    He basically started washing as soon as he joined the Jays. I remember Bautista's last season (he was very solid in RF that same season too) but he hit 23 HRS batting .204 with just over .300 OBP and jays wouldn't resign him. Those numbers in today's lineup wouldn't be bad at all LOL

  • @temp0cs
    @temp0cs 3 місяці тому +1

    Springer's production is beginning to look scarily like the end of Jose Bautista's Blue Jays tenure. 2015 Bautista was incredible, homers left right and center. But 2016 was a big step back, but due to injuries. You can relate 2021 and 2022 Springer to those years and 2023-2024 is starting to look like 2017 Bautista who looked lost at the plate and hit for barely any power anymore. It's sad but hopefully Sprigner can turn it around and go out with a blaze of glory instead of just a puff of smoke.

    It was gonna happen, especially with his injury history, but with the bad management and coaching it certainly doesn’t help at all.

    What a team pays for a player is the responsibility of the front office. So, if you're not happen with what you got, talk to the front office. This is the least of their screw ups. That being said, last year - and even more so this year - at least when Springer comes up to the plate, I have a certain level of hope and confidence that he will deliver something. And that is way higher than the level of hope and confidence I have for the Jays 'super stars" when they step up.
    BTW, Springer also brings fun, spirit, and heart to both the team and the game. But that has NEVER mattered to the Shapiro / Atkins front office.
    The higher level of confidence also applies to Davis Schneider, Ernie Clement, Dalton Varsho, and Isiah Kiner-Falefa.
    Our "super stars" are definitely not delivering what we all say they are supposed to be capable of. Why don't you analyze that!

  • @ClaireMontgomery-if4qc
    @ClaireMontgomery-if4qc 3 місяці тому

    He's still the clubhouse leader and when he plays well, the whole team plays well... but when he sucks, the team sucks! Management needs to be creative and get him gone like how AA did with Vernon Wells. I'd go so far as to force him on another team in a Bo Bichette trade. You'd be taking back less in prospect capital obviously, but you'd be changing the culture back in the right direction, have more free agent spending money and be better able to compete for a wildcard spot next year.
