There’s a shortage of financial backing for actual clubs etc. that’s where the focus needs to be. Supporters cannot be bought at 1million + while artists and the footballing industry still suffers to make ends meet.

I agree with you, Chairman, the support for fans must be strengthened and the sponsorship must be distributed in a way that many fans across different clubs will benefit from the initiative. As for the struggling artists and other athletes, the ministry must secure funding from elsewhere for them.
That's a good move by the minister. We're also struggling at the grassroots level. Hopefully he can be able to filter the funders to all art and culture and sports activities equally. These super fans sponsored trips are senseless when the arts and sportsmen are struggling financially
I'd rather have fans at stadiums than help former athletes or artists. I hate having to choose, but McKenzie is forcing us to choose at this point. We know that the reason why former athletes are struggling is because they were reckless with money. So we can't compromise having a fan for such a person

Tax money should benefit development at grassroots level...If you are a fan or super fan you must know that to support a team or national team it's a choice and must not be forced by fans to be supported, the minister is closing taps for money to be used for serious country matters not for someone to go overseas to eat and have a vacation, why at home you don't ask your team to support you to travel, you travel on your own unless you are a branch chairman...if bafana plays at home go and support your national team or don't. Motsepe is motsepe he does it for his team ask Pirates chairman to do the same and leave the minister.

Superfan organizations should be responsible for sending their fans to games. Not government and certainly not taxpayers money. What Motsepe does is fine but also if I was minister, I would cancel all of them
The argument raised Jwara Bucs needs further interrogation. There are National Team players who play sports like hockey whether indoor or outdoor (in various age groups) who have to pay each time they wish to participate at national level. Is it fair that parents should carry the burden of paying for a child or relative who is representing South Africa.. The question the remains: who needs to be supported: the vulnerable player or the vulnerable superfan. As a retired grandparent who is saddled with costs for my under21 hockey player (outdoor) and the same player has to bear the costs for the SA Men's hockey team (Indoor) the argument by the chairperson does not hold muchh water. I would like the team to pose the questions to him.

I'm just making an example if I were a minister of art and sport let's say I have 1 million budget. Sport fans (soccer, Rugby, cricket) each group get 150k. Then arts (visual, performance, music, writers) each group get R150k. Will be plus on any remaining budget if arts or sports need more.
