Good demo. The Atlantic Coast Line and several other railroads used a combination of the A-125 and A-200 on some of their E-units before replacing them with multichimers, like the Nathan M5
Often in those instances the A-125 was the rear facing horn, and wasn't sounded at the same time as the forward facing A-200, each having its own valve.
All of my small diesel switchers on my model railway (GE 44-tonner, alco rsd-1, sw-1200, fairbanks morse h-16-44, alco s2) use this kind of horn. My larger road engines (gp7s, gp18, gp38, sd40-2s, etc.) use the more modern Nathan p3 chime horns.
+manfarnz - it used to happen in the mornings around FC Tower that guarded the crossing of B&O & Wabash. One crew worked the interchange track , the other - the small yard located on the opposite side of the B&O double track main.
@izzwardo Unfortunately, it's another ebay "estate sale" auction. What I do know is that the brown paint is original, as it's getting very thin in places and the tag hasn't been painted over. Other than that, the all aluminum construction says somewhere early 50's, just before the introduction of the supertyfons (so like '50-'52)
@@mafarnznot the S3 class Northerns or the A Class Atlantics. I know the SP tended to use the A200 but the Milwaukee Road, to my knowledge, used the A125 on most if not all of their later steam engines.
Ah, the "wounded duck" !! I have audio from July of 1969 in Defiance , Ohio , of B&O SW7 & NW2 giving signals to Towerman (FC Tower) in "wounded duck"!!!!

+mafarnz - imagine two switchers honking in "wounded duck" back and forth to each other - and to a Tower Operator at the same time!!
Ugh I'd rather not!

These were equipped on the Milwaukee Road F7 steamers
Not quite, the Milwaukee steam locomotives and many other late era steam locomotives had a Leslie A-200, much larger and lower pitch than this.

That's K&L MIL MILW Hiawatha horn.
Chime-tone uses A125's as 3 chime, 4 Chime and 5 chime horns
@cweis127 It's been down for a couple of weeks now, sorry. Not my site.
This looks like you where on Shields Road.
Same region. This is on old Moscow Pullman Highway.
Although the ruptured duck kindof sounded like a sick stutter tone lol Horn is nice!
The fixed one kind of sounded like the Washington state ferry Elwha
If Chewbacca had a horn...lmao
You can see him in the distance at 03:33......
Tram-horn???
You have a Wabco E2 right?
Yes I do.
@@mafarnz it would be neat if u did a Wabco E2 and Leslie a125 together.
I don't own an A-200, and since this video was made I have sold the A-125.
How much did it sell for? If you don't mind me asking. I have one of these!
As if I could hear a trombone in a Soviet M62 locomotive
LinusTechTips is that you?
Nope. But not the first time I've had somebody ask that.
@mafarnz you said (Tie-Fone) like a telephone. Its said like the word on with an f at the begining.
3:06 HOOOOOOOONK!!!!
Bump up the hertz to 261. Add an extra 14 hertz to the note and then your good to go.
Doing so would require shortening the horn, in other words cutting it apart removing a section and welding it back together.
I know.
Hey I know someone named Leslie, I just don’t think she is as loud
ååh - nice!
CC 202
Iye cc202
Exactly
You said it like (Tie-fone). Sorry, im like over compulsive about train things.
At first I thought this was narrated by a girl. The beginning voice sounded like a girl. No hate just wonder
Yes, I am a girl.
a200 is better
