@@CameronCooper But where is Reverb shipping from? Not only that Reverb charges a commission or a fee and shipping. Got the te25th in may and it's just amazing for £240. Roasted maple, stainless frets, locking tuners, Wilkinson bridge, double bound, elixir strings..... Plays like a dream.... Love it... 😍🎸
I have the Matte Black variation with EMG retro 70s and it continues to be my go to since I got it 8 or 9 months ago. Great bang for buck, and even better than that, really.
I got mine 2 months ago. I have alot of guitars....this is my favorite. Silky smooth neck and fretwork, the build quality, the hardware, the smoothness of the effin pickup switch....everything simply feels "silky". Top-notch quality for less than 500 bucks. Hell...if it were any other manufacturer you'd be paying over 5000 bucks for something like this.
I can tell you a little trick if you would like to keep your matt black guitars in a little better shape for a long long time. Just get a vinyl like for car coverings and cut it for the entire top, or maybe even a pick cover area like I did on my Jackson DK3 that start wearing the paint off. It blends so well you will barely see if even looking for it. You can do it for less than $10.00US by getting the small sample sizes that are usually enough to do a couple guitar bodies or front and back.
I recently subscribed to a lefty guitar site and the first email I got was a list of all the makes of guitars that do them. I must admit that I know nothing about these guitars and I scrolled past them thinking that they just sound like an expensive brand. Please let me know how it plays as I'm very intrigued. Peace fellow leftie!!
3 out of my 16 guitars are harley benton, they are a good brand. They play well and are affordable. If you want to buy one, just avoid the ones with black hardware, I've seen videos where most of those have grounding issues. This guitar should arrive in 5 to 7 weeks

They are currently offering a 25% discount on 25 products for their 25th anniversary. And considering the already excellent value for money, it's definitely worth it. I've ordered a SC-550 II Gotoh AFB, which I'm expecting on Monday, and I'm always impressed by the quality of Harley Benton. For most people, it's hard to imagine because when you pay so little, you often feel like you're compromising on quality. Do you have any experience with their tube amps? Whether it's heads or combos, I'm looking to equip myself again without spending too much, but without compromising on quality.
Because of this video, I ordered one and got it for Christmas. It is a badass. I ran it side by side with my Fender HSS Strat. And it held up. One thing that I noticed about the roasted neck is that the more you play it the faster is gets. It's a guitar for the money. Here in America the guitar was around $415. And the shipping to my area was 82 bucks. Hell of a deal. And I absolutely love this guitar. Oh and by the way. The neck does not wreak. It smells like you're sitting by a campfire.
@@CameronCooper maybe so. I'm going to change the factory strings on it soon. I just wanted to break it in with what it had. It's a great guitar. Thanks for sharing.
Fantastic Cameron has an explanation of how to practice playing the guitar / for those of us who play the guitar / thirty or forty years old. what he shows is not for beginners.Thank you for everything useful, which you present on the guitar even better than the great guitarists
Thanks! I try to make the complex aspects of guitar seem more approachable to those who want to begin to build their technique, regardless of which stage they're at in their playing
Thanks for the video...nicely done. You get my sub. I have collected guitars since the 1990s, and have owned at least 100 in my time, ranging from super cheap to boutique. After hearing the debate about Harley Bentons for years, I decided to try one last year...got a silver sparkle Fusion hybrid HH tele with a Wilkinson. It was one of their more expensive guitars, but still came to something like $450 shipped to the US directly from Thomann. My example has basically no issues - one small tooling mark blemish on the fretboard, and 2 tiny black specks in the sparkle finish. I was expecting to gut it and swap everything, but there has been no need. The wiring was much cleaner than I expected to see. Yes, it uses Alpha pots and cheaper pickups, but everything works fine, and the pickups sound pretty decent. The coil splits kind of suck, but that’s the case with many pickups. The finish is done very nicely, the neck feels good, the frets are seated and dressed properly. It weighs between 7 & 8 lbs. It’s a solid guitar period, but a steal at this price new. Now, this is my only experience with HB, so I can’t say how consistent the quality is on this model. And no - I wouldn’t trade one of my higher end guitars for a HB. But my limited experience with HB is positive, and this guitar far exceeded my expectations. Thomann is the largest musical supply company in the world. They have connections everywhere, and they can negotiate on huge scales. Also, they use a lot of uncommon woods that are much cheaper to source than a lot of the more expensive manufacturers. And yes, they count on selling in volume with low margins per unit. But the main reason is that they are paying much less for labor costs than anything made in the US or Japan, just like all the companies that buy from the Indonesian factories. I contacted Thomann, asking if I could pick a particular guitar out of the batch, and the service rep told me flat out that they don’t inspect the individual guitars when they receive them from the factory. This is likely why some guitars get shipped to customers with major issues on occasion. So if you add up all of these factors, that’s why they can sell the guitars so cheap.
That's a beautiful guitar - especially the fret board, my god.... Another great, affordable guitar brand is Sire. I am likely to pick up a Harley Benton next
Man i have a fusion 3. It didn't just blow my mind, it blew my luthiers mind... a real luthier who builds $7000+ guitars was astonished. He told me just the wood for the neck(not shaped or cut yet) would run him $150.

I've had decent cheap guitars from Thomann before for mod projects but I was totally unprepared for what I got when this model arrived. There genuinely are guitars costing thousands that are not as good as this. I bought the 25th Anniversary Fusion III as B-stock but mine is flawless. There was a reddish mark on it when it arrived that looked like a finish flaw but that wiped off with a damp cloth (Sorry, Thomann). The neck and frets are just perfect and the roasted maple looks and feels great. Even the Tesla pickups are pretty good, although in the end I've succumbed to the temptation to swap them out for pups better suited to metal. The trem is actually a unit I've used in a few mods before and it works great but I'm still going to swap it out for a Vega-Trem at the weekend purely because the Wilkinson doesn't give such a wide travel up and down. These are just fantastic. If they're still available and you can live with the colour it's a no-brainer.
I just wish Harley Benton were more widely distributed in America, they look like some really nice affordable guitars, I've never actually seen one in the flesh...my taste in guitars has completely changed since before I started playing...then I dreamt of Les Pauls but now I prefer Teles, Strats, and Epiphone semi hollows, and I don't even play the typical genres associated with them!
I bought that guitar recently. I didn't like the neck and middle pickups so I've changed it to Dimarzio's. Now it sounds very good. BTW the bridge pickup is good.
@@CameronCooper I swapped out the pups in mine and put a DiMarzio SD in the bridge and hot rails in the neck. They're popular
What's the riff at 3:20?? Is it a Vai tune? Cheers
If fender: 1k
If gibson: 10k
That AWWWWesome was awesome!! hahahaaa
I want one 😎
Any chance you’d break down the tapped sequence at 35 seconds in?
Sounds great
Many thanks!
I might at some point. I'm just enjoying the fact that I have learned it for now
That would be fantastic if you get the chance.
Sounding great my friend
I enjoyed the demo/ review as well.
All the best- 😎
Nice job, locating the switch, right where you will hit it with your strumming hand. Was this guitar designed by an actual guitar player?
Everyone's so quick to blame gear these days. I have no problem with it
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Looks like a fantastic guitar. I’m not super impressed by the pickups, but the rest looks great!
They're easy enough to change
that how I feel about my LP style. Nicer than almost any gibson i've played for 200 bucks
Hey Cameron. Another awesome video. Thanks! Do you think this guitar is able to handle Van Halen style playing?
If you're referring to whammy bar use then no. Go for the Fusion iii FR. But as far as everything else EVH, that comes down to you as a player.
Seems like a decent axe especially for the price. What's the weight of the guitar?
I'm not sure, I don't weigh guitars. Not a lump of lead but not super light either
