I see that this is quite an old video, but I’m going to throw in my comments because the Action PJ is still available in the marketplace. I am a student of bass - not an experienced player. I bought an Action PJ in open pore walnut finish as my first bass. I started taking lessons, and participated in a number of jams with fellow students lead by my teacher. After a couple of years I decided to treat myself with a shiny new toy. I bought a Fender American Performer Jazz Bass. I love it. I smile every time I look at it and every time I play it. BUT: the Cort neck is definitely easier to play, the Cort seems to weigh half of what the Fender weighs, probably because of soft wood in the body, the Cort is more forgiving regarding string muting - the strings you’re not playing don’t seem to pick up the vibrations the way the Fender does. When I p,ay the Cort I usually keep the bridge pickup off and the neck pickup wide open because it really sounds a lot like a Fender P Bass in that configuration. So, I love my Fender, and I still love my Cort that cost 25% of what the Fender did. And I sure like the light weight. I highly recommend the Cort in your collection.
Good to see fresh comments under this model. Im looking for smth really light for my injured back and came across Cort recommendations. Only one thing is to choose which one bc Plus in most reviews sounds a little bit farting, maybe of course it's the question of their setup or mine or proper tuning etc, so judging only by videos someone's sound is a controversial thing. Btw I saw the same opinions like yours about P and useless J. What would you say about PJ and Plus if you had any thoughts on it? Thanks
@@beecrispy Don’t get me wrong - the J pickup is not useless. You can get a lot of tones by blending both pickups and adjusting the tone. It’s just that I have a Fender J, and the only thing I can’t do is make the J sound like a P Bass. And I love the sound of a P Bass. I think a PJ setup gives a person tremendous flexibility. Now, about the PJ Plus… the biggest difference I see when I read about it is the fact that it has active pickups rather than passive. I’ve never played a bass with active pickups, and I am definitely not a good enough player to distinguish subtle differences or nuances between the two systems. Anyway, the Cort quality is very good, and to me the weight and overall feel of the instrument is very nice. I highly recommend Cort.

Awesome basses. Since I've bought my Action-A I've tried some other basses and I still didn't found anything that would beat it in versatility in use, it's overall excellent universal guitar - if you want it to sound low - then it will, if you want it pretty bright - no problem. Whatever you buy, get it set up properly. Switch the blend pot for a m/n 500k also, will prevent volume drop when both pickups are on.
@@andylambeth5643 and which one do u prefer between this cort action and yamaha trbx174? and why?
Cort action plus because it’s active, the Yamaha is fine however mine had a buzzy pickup.
Hi, why did you prefer the plus over the passive one? Can't decide between the two. Is the active preamp really a "plus" or not? Is the sound still 'natural"? Please let me know
What's the string spacing on these basses?
19mm
Weight 4:25
Is this a fingered bass or a pick bass?
Both
This one or YAMAHA TRBX 174 ????
Even I'm confused between the two. Please suggest !
Yamaha of course.
hello i just got my self a cort Action PJ Bass its my first time playing bass i wanted ask you if you have some lessons to learn the basic notes
Simon Goodman Search for the beginner bass lesson on talkingbass, it should get you going pretty well.
34 Scale ?
yes
That guy could make a stick with a string nailed to it sound good.
For webcam sound, its superb. If it came into my TV (I don't have one), I'd say the production values are excellent. My complaint abut buzz/fuzz has phase away. That last riff is awesome. It got ME DANCING!
I'd give that Rene a job.
+I Ate Eight Webcam sound?
It's direct audio.
Thank you
3:05 song?
just an idea, that i had in mind. thanks for watching!! all the best, rene.
Rene Flächsenhaar I could've sworn it sounded like a song already released at some point in the past.
Sounds like Seeman, but it's pretty different
I don’t hear a lot of string buzz. It’s either the player or the guitar or both.
I WOULD TO HAVE THIS BASS...
Ita a professional or not
Son buenos???
Dure 3 años usando bajos cort y nunca me dieron problemas
My first bass. Damn i tried to play KORN with this ^^
Batu 315 Can u play?
@@akesson3726 Nope
@@cormoranbass why not?
@@seshanadi348 Cause i sucked at that time :D and tried to tune to ADGC with .45 - .100 strings
@@cormoranbass Hey , I wanted to know if it's possible to play korn on this or not, or would it damage the bass/strings?
6:35
Or Yamaha TRBX 174 or 204
did you find the answer? which ones better between this action cort and trbx174? and why?
@@hendyp6325 I'm confused between the two as well. Please suggest !
@@deepakpillai6384 i dont know the answer but i bought cort
This does not sound like a Yamaha RBX170.
ese bajo si sale bueno en de 5 cuerdas
this guy has magical hands, i used to play a cort action pj and tone was a shit
I own the double j version that im selling
Suena mejor él pasivo
Seem decent enough. Too bad Cort has been doing some shady stuff at least when they were made in Korea.
What happened in Korea by Cort?
ich wollte als Wiedereinsteiger 500,-€ für einen Bass ausgeben und bin mit 300,- und einem Cort Action PJ nach Hause gekommen.
Sehr gut 👍
I wish i could play bass, but i'm a useless lazy piece of trash with PJ bass)
The newer models of these are more cheaply built, bent tin bridge, the first were cast, different pups too, the split P was reversed, old model had Aganthis body, shame they changed.
How do you rate the pickups?
Which one is better? The old (reversed split pups) or the new one?
@@leinadatidumarp they really don't need a pick up upgrade, they are fine as they are.....lots of rubbish talked about pick ups, they are just a magnet with wire around the poles
Ahahahhahahahaha
hm... Fender rule! Don't "meat" in this sound..Because "Cort".
+John Forest don't meat? I'm a vegetarian 😉
BassTheWorld.com I'am so sorry! I call "meat", I talking about "groovy sound". And something... Never make fun of someone who speaks broken English. It means they know another language))..best regards
Suena a pedos
