Its Wagner Moura, a brazillian actor! He is absolutely great in every role he plays! I reccomend watching Tropa de Elite 1 and Tropa de Elite 2 if u wanna see a villain and a hero in the same caracther!
I'm a classical guitarist, and the ironic thing is that audiences prefer to see the performer reading from the sheet music (even if they know it by the heart). But I agree; memorizing is to me a sign that you've done your homework.
@@OktoberStorm Definitely! I follow a lot of Japanese voice actors and they always emphasize the importance of reading and keeping the script on hand to make notes. Knowing John’s comedy background, I find it so interesting how he chose to memorize most of his lines and if his experience of doing standup had anything to do with that.
@@sarina9994 I think it makes more sense that he memories his lines considering his stand up background, actually. I assume he's had to memorise lots and lots of routines (since obviously he can't bring a script on stage lol). It is interesting, I wonder if it's instinctual to him to memorise the lines. But I do agree that since he can, he could read back to the lines to makes sure he knows what he's saying next.

For those wondering: Death in this movie is extra scary for Spanish listeners, because Wagner Moura is Brazillian, and speaks Portuguese. As such, his accent is incredibly alien for any Spanish speakers; its English but he does not have any Spanish-speaker mannerisms. Its like listening to someone speak in an accent you never heard before, and it gives you goosebumps because its fucking Death. Contrast it with the stereotypical dragged accent of Banderas, and you get such a conflict, especially when Moura speaks in actual Spanish.

Can we stop for a while and appreciate that wonderful cockney Florence gave to Goldilocks? It immediately brings back to me criminals from Guy Ritchie's movies and other similar characters. I don't know, who made that choice, but it's awesome.
It's very interesting to see how the original is actually produced. They play and read the script, only seeing bits of the storyboard to understand the context. They can truly make it their own. While voiceactors in other countries, dubbing the OG, are always forced to follow the lead.
Florence sounds exactly like the green lizard from the Geico commercials. She also reminds me of the female gecko with a strong Cockney accent. That's pretty funny lol
Same. It's the best movie I've seen period in a very long time. It's so beautifully animated, funny, moving, chilling and has such a deep and important message. I loved it so much. The voice acting is so impressive.
I don't know if anyone else had brought this up, I like how this film is the 2nd time that Florence Pugh and Ray Winstone worked together. The 1st being Black WIdow. I just find it funny that they went from being enemies to family.
I am 25 years old and the wolf scared me so deeply to my core when I first saw the movie 😨💀 (also loving that it's voiced by the guy who played Pablo Escobar, perfect haha)

Or Narcos (he’s Pablo Escobar)
wagner moura is amazing
Classic and he looks grate for the part too 😄 blends in with the latin theme too, it’s all lovely ☺️
hes great!! but the spanish dub is even more terrifying
Holy moly Florence Pugh has such a mastery of tone and inflection. It feels like the character is coming to life through her performance.
I instantly start crushing on her
I know I had no idea it was her I was in shock she's so good a acting
Florence pugh and her bear related characters
Portuguese dubbing was terrible. They hired someone that looked like the character but with zero emotion behind any line.
@@my-edits I know! Her accent and tone was just different enough that I thought it may have been Cara Delevingne!

For someone who’s Colombian it’s even scarier since he played Pablo Escobar in Narcos
Ahora me entero que a los de habla hispana no asusta y sorprende el portugués 😂
I'm a Spanish listener and Moura sounds like an English average speaker when he speaks in Spanish, he does have a recognizable accent
0:18 - Antonio Banderas/Puss
2:05 - Harvey Guillien/Perrito
2:50 - Florence Pugh/Goldi
4:19 - John Mulaney/ Jack Horner
5:59 - Wagner Moura/Death
Salma Hayek/Kitty Softpaws is missing😢😢😭😭😭
Wolf best voice acting in movie. Similar to Jeremy Irons voice.
Oh yeah. I can kind of hear it
Its Wagner Moura, a brazillian actor! He is absolutely great in every role he plays! I reccomend watching Tropa de Elite 1 and Tropa de Elite 2 if u wanna see a villain and a hero in the same caracther!
No Antonio Banderas was the best obviously. He put the most effort.
Pablito
Reminded me of Benicio del Toro in Sicario
Wolfs voice is so haunting, i love it

You should see donkey in latin america. And Shrek in general, they adapt the language and the jokes adapted to the latin american audience. 10/10
I just can't get enough of Florence Pughs accent! lol it's so cool

She is just right
6:00 to the end is just perfection in voice acting. God bless he was so good...
Antonio Banderas is a legend
One of the best animated films i've EVER seen!

Every voice actor here was brilliant, they made the movie so much fun!
Pablo Escobar as Death was perfect casting
how goldi would say: "The death's voice is JUST RIGHT"
Wagner Moura killed it on the wolf role
Well, well...
He made himself immortal in this one.
Just watched "Puss in boots" for the first time and I couldn't get over Goldi's voice actor. I had to search her and I must say, I'm not disappointed.
John Mulaney is great🤣
Wagner's voice sends chills down my spine lmao
6:00 You know exactly why this is the most replayed moment of this video.
if im being honest i think death should start a asmr channel lol 7:12
I would subscribe
Wagner Maura the guy who played Escobar is the voice actor of the big bad wolf aka Death. Such a talent. 🙌
They were all Fantastic... The Best yet can't wait for the next to come...💯💥🤜🤛👊
I got so giddy when I saw Florence pugh's name in the credits 😭
Best movie this year.
Death in 10 minutes of screentime made a better villain than any at disney and he is not even a villain hes just doimg his job
Wagner Moura is just perfection
The delivery of the _you see?_ after the fake laugh on 1:12 makes me expel air out of my nose every time
2:40 I don't know why that made me laugh
This movie is much better than the Shrek franchise deserves.
The key to a great voice actor is ample supply of San Pellegrino Sparkling Water 6:41
Goldi voice my favorite

Guillermo finally completes his dream 😂
HAHAH
I wanted to listen the line "OH I JUST LOVE THE SMELL OF FEAR!!! "
Flo literally nailed Goldi-
Harvey Guillien is so good in What We Do In the Shadows, it was just so fun to have him do a totally different character.
perritos actor is great at small tiny voices
Death being Pablo Escobar makes total sense now
I was like why does he look so familiar? OH HE'S ZORO

Florence Pugh and Wagner Moura for me
Guillermo!!! Was not aware of it. Awesome work as always. Bing fan, hugs from México.
Capitão Nascimento, Pablo Escobar and now the Wolf. Wagner Moura was born for these type of roles 😂
This movie gonna win an Oscar
It should win all of them! Lol. I love it!
I hear John, I hear Andrew haha😂 good stuff
Big Jack is so fucking funny, great performance
It's great work, specially Goldy😍 (Florence Pugh🥰 ) and death🤩.
Wolf : Yo soy Pablo Escobar!!

"Hello missis, we're lookin fo' a ca', this ca'..."
It's amazing how just a pair of glasses can completely change how you see Antonio Banderas.
Love this movie!
That’s Pablo Escobar the wolf 🔥
I love how canonically, Puss in Boots is the father from the Spy Kids movies

Really thought the wolf was played by Benicio, Del Toro
Benicio (the one who plays collector in marvel) or guillermo (the director of trollhunters, pinocchio, blade and hellboy)
Bc guillermo voiced the guard captin in puss in boots 1
NO 🤣🤣🤣
