I think it was done as a bit of a joke but a bit of a compliment. I don't seriously think he'd get with her even though he has been with much younger women. He just enjoys being flirty and being entertaining. It was very entertaining to watch. Hilarious.

I would say that he started just polite, she responded all startrucked and cutesy, then he added a flaterin that acknwolege he finds her pretty but nkows is young and he goes away (like a nostalgic: You are cute darling, back in my days I used to date cute girls like You). She is the one that elevates the flirting vibe, when she responded the cumpliment with a more open insinuation that he has a chance, by changing the cute and inocent tone of her voice for a sexy and funny one and asking if he see her like a potential new girlfriend.
