Canada doesn't pay more than your average American state in tax for gas and we have free healthcare. The reason most European countries have such a high tax rate on gas is because of how connected most areas are with urban transport so the governments see it as a luxury whereas in North America it's a necessity. Bitch all you want about socialism, but without it at all you just have non unionized workers getting fucked by capitalist douchebags like early Industrialist America so if working a 16 hour shift, 6 days a week for enough money to barely feed your family sounds like a good idea to you, by all means fight against all forms of socialism as you seem content to do.
