Yea Marcix's EP I think is one of my biggest hot takes of this list. I enjoyed the EP, but didn't think it was as strong as a majority of the community did
My favorite ep this year was Zeroth's "This won't be my grave". I don't know if you heard it but the innovative style and playing with the tearout sound in something that actually sounds good was very captivating to me. Plus the behind the scenes context and narrative for the EP (in the description on soundcloud) really made the EP also feel like it had something behind it
I know everyone told you this but the productions of these videos are amazing Love the colour schemes about the theme of each worst/best video and the lightning of them
Banger list. I especially celebrated seeing some of the lower items on the list (Oppidan, Convexity, ellis, and *especially* Tennyson & Leslie). I’m interested in how you handle lyrics that run counter to your beliefs (e.g. the spiritual claims in “Shakti”, the occult focus in YMIR’s EP this year and MUERTE’s EP last year, etc.). How does that consideration play out when building these lists?
That's a great questions actually! I would say I'm more of a "progressive" Christ Follower, relative to the norm in that I don't shy away from occult stuff or non-religious spirituality. In the same way non-believers hear what I may say about my faith, they are exactly that, a belief system of some kind. I think if you shut down all conversation or ignore what other people believe, that's a fairly arrogant mindset. I'm always up for dialogue and conversation about belief and religion as I genuinely like to hear what people believe. So when I hear those more occult-like stuff, it doesn't both more, in fact, I'm typically quite curious about it!
Yeah, total ignorance is not the way to go for sure. Some people wouldn’t give these things a second thought as they listen and, via this unconditional acceptance, fall into a different kind of ignorance that is also devoid of curiosity. These conversations are literally of eternal importance, so I’m glad they’re happening. Also happy to see you stay so balanced and thoughtful in your reviews.
We stan Convexity in this household 🗣️🗣️🗣️ Loving the energy in these videos dude. And by seeing you talk about your favorites, i just might find myself some new artists to love. W shoutout to Neddie btw And for my own note about the EDM scene, I've been kind of paying attention to the stuff since 2021 and I'm genuinely seeing a different trends and how artists are growing.I got to say 2024 really was such a strong year, especially for Disciple and Monstercat. Glad they kinda made a comeback compared to 2023.
@garrettmusic1724 great taste I see! There's some more convexity songs that I like, but those (and liminal) are my favorites. I just gave duplicity a listen, it's fine.
bit surprised koan sound's ep didn't make it in hahah, but nice list regardless :) personally I have to shoutout voljum's global tourist assembly ep as my pick this year
KOAN Sound's EP was actually on this list to begin with but fell off as I felt it didn't have the staying power like these other ones did or even their own former projects.
Can't believe that Feed Me pushed out two great eps last year. The fact that he was able to balance between his main alias, Spor and get a returning collab with No Mana on Monstercat makes it one of his best years of his career.
Finished the video and is amazing how many talented artists i knew with this video and that says really well about your eye on smaller artists Also seeing artists i actually like as Convexity, Feed Me and YMIR is quite surprising and i gotta say Disciple last quarter of 2024 had the best lineup of EPs and A/Bs like Chime, Ace Aura, Beutnoise, Moley, ECRAZE, Izadi, NIRE, Marcix, Sora, MOB, Nosphere, YOKED, TWO KIND and Graphyt. Nice video man Hope to see the worst songs, best songs and best albums soon!
Was hoping for a @Marcix shout-out for Digital Transmissions 😢 one of my favorites this year easily. But a lot of great mentions here too, plenty of new adds to my saved playlists
Neddie always kills it on every of his EP fr. And i recently cannot stop listening to ellis - signals EP. So many good EPs this year i cant count how much great EPs there are! Edit: i said EP four times haha
I found Convexity's music last year with the song Liminal, and I'll admit I have not kept up with his releases but after this video my mind has changed, and I'll definitely check out his songs and continue to keep an eye on whatever he'll release next
Really good list and video! Just as a heads up "Ymir" pronounced "E-meer" or "yuh-meer" instead of "Y-meer". His alias is based off of the frost giant in Norse mythology.
Damn, Camoufly Turquoisedeath, Feed me & 1788-L mentioned ❤ They all were bomb! I'd add Super Freq EP by Machine Girl, since it's one of the most energetic thing i've heard this year
Lot of peak stuff this year, great choices on your end, and with a knock2 album coming very soon, 2025 is lookin to be the same Edit: BASED #1 LETS GOOOO
my personal top 3 this year would probably be WINK & nikko’s Seeing Double project, just all around best work, then Nikita, the Wicked’s iloveitwhentheyrun for the interesting and creative production and lastly Viperactive’s Bout to Break for just hitting. So glad Neddie and 1788-L are mentioned too, i love their flavor of dnb :>
CAMOUFLYYYYYYYYY i found him in 2023 through 'Baby' through spotify's recommended songs and he's done nothing but impress me with every following release. so glad he's getting the recognition he deserves here
I remember when that Convexity album dropped. At first I was like, this is different and I got excited. Then I was like, great another very talented producer making undancable weirdness. I guess if you like to listen to EDM in your living room this is fine but I can't imagine wanting to see it live. How do you dance to this?
I wouldn't say the Convexity EP isn't made primarily for dancing, it's definitely more of a listening kinda project. That being said, I've totally danced and moved to stuff like that at clubs and festivals before and had an amazing time!
My favorite EPs released in 2024: 1. The Caracal Project - Self reflections: (not even close) 2. Bensley, Justin Hawkes, Kumarion - Carry The Fire 3. Caster - Sorcerer's Symphony 4. Blanke - Emergence interesting, 3 of 4 were released in january I think
Honestly just fell off the list towards the end of the year. I didn't think it had as much staying power as the rest of their projects and or the other 10 EPs that made this list

i thought for sure i was watching a channel with way more subs than this. your passion is infectious. keep it up!
Appreciate it! yea I'm definitely still a small creator
Marcix's Digital Reassurance deserves a spot on this list, or at least a honorable mention! But a Feed Me and Convexity W for sure
Yea Marcix's EP I think is one of my biggest hot takes of this list. I enjoyed the EP, but didn't think it was as strong as a majority of the community did
