About the artist:
The Bee Gees is a musical group which originally comprised three brothers: Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. The trio were successful for most of their decades of recording music, but they had two distinct periods of exceptional success: as a pop act in the late 1960s/early 1970s, and as prominent performers of the disco music era in the late 1970s. The group sang three-part tight harmonies that were instantly recognisable; Robin's clear vibrato lead was a hallmark of their earlier hits, while Barry's R&B falsetto became their signature sound during the late 1970s and 1980s. The brothers wrote all of their own hits, as well as writing and producing several major hits for other artists.
Born in the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived their first few years in Chorlton, Manchester, England, then moved in the late 1950s to Redcliffe, Queensland, Australia, where they began their musical careers. After achieving their first chart success in Australia with "Spicks and Specks" (their 12th single), they returned to the United Kingdom in January 1967 where producer Robert Stigwood began promoting them to a worldwide audience. It has been estimated that the Bee Gees' career record sales total more than 220 million, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997; the presenter of the award to "Britain's first family of harmony" was Brian Wilson, historical leader of the Beach Boys, a "family act" also featuring three harmonising brothers. The Bee Gees' Hall of Fame citation says "Only Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Garth Brooks and Paul McCartney have outsold the Bee Gees".
Following Maurice's sudden death in January 2003, Barry and Robin Gibb ended the group after 45 years of activity. In 2009, however, Robin announced that he and Barry had agreed that the Bee Gees would re-form and perform again.

Today, I attended a wedding where the bride was my first love. We met in my last year of high school and broke up after 2 years when I was a sophomore. We only started talking again after 7 years of breaking up, when we were going through a tough phase in life. Somehow, we shared and supported each other through our individual hardships. It's been almost 10 years since we last met, and today, on her happiest day, seeing her walk down the aisle. I experienced an overwhelming mix of emotions. I felt happiness for her, but also a tinge of regret and nostalgia for the beautiful youth we once had together. Regardless, thank you for everything, thank you for being there. Thank you for the love, the kisses, the magical moments, and all the wonderful memories. May you find true happiness and serenity, my dear, my unique, and forever cherished love.

This song sums up the feeling of nostalgia for many things, two being first love and childhood days. Such a great song. Many people remember the Bee Gees for Saturday Night Fever, which is classic of course, but many great songs of theirs are from before then and this is a classic example of that. If there was ever a song that says to the listener "Live life to the full, it goes so quickly", this is such a song. The line, "Time has passed us by", is so profoundly true. Time does pass so fast. This song is nearly 51 years old now. RIP, Maurice, Robin and Andy. Stay strong, Barry. Your brothers will always be with you.

This song really touches me, because I'm very sentimental. One of my favorite Bee Gees songs, and they composed sooo many great ones.
My father died when he was only 46 years old. And it happened on Christmas day when I never expected it could be the day he will left us due to sudden brain aneurysm. It has been almost 8 years but the pain is still inside my heart. When he was alive, he really loved this song so much and would sing it everytime he heard this. I can't help but still cry a lot of tears for him. So love your father because you'll never know when he won't be around anymore. :(
My father passed away close to 30 years ago. I consider myself fortunate, because during the Summers of my college years, I would return home, and we both worked in the same factory in Chicago. We would both go to work in his car, so we shared some wonderful time together. I still remember his great sense of humor, and I can't help but laugh whenever I remember some of the funny things he used to say. I only wish that I had asked him for details about the paternal side of the family. I know his memory held a lot of information about that, information that I would like to know now.

I lost first my spouse then my parents then last a Brother. It took two years to feel whole again. May is such a memorable month for me. May 3rd is when I got married.May 4rth 2021, I lost my brother. May 9th& 10th are Birthday's for both my spouse & I. May 2009 is when we purchased our first home. And sometimes I go back to my childhood & see myself sitting on this concrete fence at a business near my home growing up
with my deceased brother whom I was very close to & it warms my heart remembering our childhood conversations & laughter.
I Thank God for those good memories. I hope to see them all one day. But as for now I will appreciate the gift of life to the fullest as they would wish for me. And as I wish for other's now.
I was 11 and fell in love with this song. I played a small amount of piano by ear, and picked the melody painstakingly out of mid air, so happy that I could accompany myself with the melody while singing the song that had captured my heart...just as so many BeeGee songs have done since.

Just thought of this song while doing some yard work. I went back into my house and found it on UTube. Ironically I'm going through bins of old items. Woke up to this song the day after my Sister passed away 3 months ago. It was in my head all day all week untill I decided to look into it. Never knew it was from the Beegees but heard it when I was young. Making sense out of the lyrics bcs the title does not say anything to me (yet)more and more I came to overstand the meaning the song has on my relationship with her which was so special and beautiful. I love this song. I was a child during the Older Bee Gees songs day. But this makes me recall our hunting for a tall tree. I still smell the cedar.
